Warm Summer Night

Damian stirred awake to the feeling of his half-alien boyfriend trying, and failing, to quietly climb over him to get out of bed in the dark.

"What are you doing?" Damian asked groggily

"Oh shoot, sorry Dami I didn't mean to wake you up" Jon whispered loudly as he struggled to get his foot untangled from the blue comforter.

"It's hard to sleep well in how hot and moist it is, I don't know how you were out cold. I was going to get a cup of water to see if that would help" He tugged his foot a little too hard. The blanket came flying off the bed as Jon fell backwards and hit the floor with a loud "thump".

Damian sighed and sat up to help his idiot boyfriend to his feet.

"We'll get water quickly, but then you have to make yourself fall asleep. I'm not going to tolerate being woken up every five minutes because you can't close your eyes."

Jon pushed open his bedroom door and quietly tiptoed into the hall, although it was ultimately pointless trying to be quiet when his father could pick up on the slightest movement. Not to mention that he had most likely already woken up when Jon fell off the bed. Anyone would have woken up from that, superhearing or not. The two boys made their way into the kitchen, which was somehow even sludgier feeling than the bedroom because of the heat and humidity of the summer night. Domain honestly had no problem with the warmth, but Jon looked extremely uncomfortable and sweaty in the weather.

Jon stumbled to the cabinets where the glasses were kept, too lazy to take three seconds to turn on the lights. He sighed in annoyance and ran a hand through his messy, thick black curls as he realized there were no clean cups on the shelves. Damian hoisted himself into a sitting position on the counter and admired his beautiful stupid alien boy as he scrambled around the kitchen trying to find a single clean glass.

"Aha!" Jon exclaimed as he triumphantly held up two plastic kids cups he had found in the dishwasher. Damian couldn't help but smile at Jon's childish grin. Jon handed him the pink cup, full of water.

"Thank you beloved" Damian said as he took the cup from Jon.

Jon leaned on the counter beside Damian and downed his cup of water in two mouthfuls. Damian smiled again at the adorable, sleepy, dehydrated boy. Jon noticed him staring and moved so he was in front of Damian, hands either side of him.

"What?" Jon asked, one of his stupidly cute grins spreading across his face.

"Nothing," Dami responded, moving his face closer to Jon's.

"Just... you"

Jon giggled softly and moved one hand to cup Damian's face.

"I love you" he whispered before delicately kissing Damian on the lips.

Domain kissed Jon back, sweet, slow and warm. He wrapped his arms around Jon's neck to deepen the kiss. The heat, instead of being suffocating and groggy, now seemed to complement the kiss as it surrounded them.

Damian loved Jon. He loved how he fidgeted when he was anxious, he loved how Jon smiled at every little thing like a happy child, he loved how he made Damian feel safe and loved whenever they were together. And even though Damian had a hard time telling Jon how much he loved him. He knew that Jon understood how much he cared. No words necessary.

The two boys sat there kissing for a long time before finally making their way back to bed. They fell asleep on top of the covers, wrapped in eachothers arms, the warm air coaxing them into sleep.

A/N I have read all the good fanfiction about these two so I decided to do my own. I literally hate writing fanfic but whatever. This book probably wont be updated too often because even though it's summer and i have time to write, I am extremely lazy.
