Blood. Fires. Explosions. Countless crowds of dead and living people. I saw all this when I got out of my grave. From the first minutes of my new life, I realized that there was a confrontation between zombies and people. And people clearly outweigh this fight. Don't they understand that a new civilization has come and the end of their miserable world is coming soon?

I felt hungry. I need someone to eat, or I will die again. And I don't want to go back to the grave at all.

There, in the forest, there is a man. A living person. I want him. But he is afraid. He hides among the trees, quietly shooting at zombies like me.

I came closer and closer to him from behind, trying to be unnoticed. But suddenly something clicked under my still disobedient feet, and the man immediately turned around and pointed a weapon at me. Without waiting for the shot, I immediately pounced on him and began to bite, tearing off small pieces of meat. He screamed heartrendingly and reached for the pistol, but I leaned on top so that he couldn't get an inch closer to it.

Gradually, the man's heart slowed down, and soon he died. He died to be born again.

I looked at the gun and decided to pick it up. I felt that my body was now completely under my control. Furthermore, I have become faster, stronger, smarter and... Have become more human? Cadaveric spots have almost disappeared on my hands and feet. My skin became smoother and more like the skin of a living person. What is happening to me?

No. I don't need any weapon. I am the weapon. Throwing the pistol into the grass, I walked towards the crowd of zombies. They ran to living people, but people shot them like wild animals on a hunt. Not a single zombie managed to break through the endless stream of bullets. And not a single zombie wanted to hide from this stream. What am I standing for? I need to act.

- Hey, what are you doing here? - I heard a man's voice from behind, - Hold the gun, and go on the attack! We almost beat them!

A man just gave me a weapon and ran to the side of the people. I looked at my hands holding the gun and knew what to do.

I ran after him, and the people who saw me thought I was human. They weren't going to shoot me. Have I changed so much? Have I become a human? No, I'm not human. I am something new. I am the one who will change this world.

There are very few zombies left, and people are about to win. But I don't want that at all. I'm a zombie, too. And we all have to live.

The living went forward, and I slowly stepped back and, in the end, ended up behind all the people. Looking at the gun again, I realized that it was impossible to hesitate any longer.

A one second... And I'm already shooting people to kill them. Five seconds... And zombies greedily attack their immobilized bodies. Ten seconds... And the dead come back to life and begin to eat the remaining living people. A minute passes... And there are no more people. There are only those like me. There are only zombies. The last of us has risen, and now a whole army stands before me. They calmly wait for my word, faithfully looking into my eyes. None of them looked like they had just come out of their graves anymore. Everyone was like people.

- We are a new civilization! - I exclaimed, spreading my arms to the sides, - Now is our time to live! The universe has given us all a second chance! And now...

A sudden burning pain hit my chest. I lowered my eyes and saw a thin stream of scarlet blood flowing straight from my body. Losing my balance, I fell. My breathing quickened. The heart beat as if it was about to pierce the chest, and then stopped altogether. The pain was gone.

I lay in a pool of my own blood until suddenly it began to be absorbed back into my body. After a while, I got to my feet as if nothing had happened and saw several zombies biting the pathetic shooter.

- And now we will definitely win this fight for life! The Earth will be completely ours! Because we are Zombies!
