I drank the rest of my coffee and went to pay.
"Hey Gyu, I'm here to pa-"
"It's on me." I heard Hansol from somewhere behind Mingyu.
"Pfft... Why is that so?"
"Because you deserve some rest after what happened."
"Me? You do."
"Yeah, I got hurt physically, but you got hurt emotionally."
"Oh come on, man, let me pay for myself just once..."
"No way." He said, walking from behind a corner that was behind Mingyu. I rolled my eyes. "I love you too." He responded with a wink.
"Oh shut up." I said jokingly and walked out of the store. I looked behind myself and saw him looking at me. I waved him with a smile and he waved back, smiling even wider.I went home.
Is he trying to make it up to me? I though as I arrived to my room.
"I don't know..." I said to myself and fell onto my bed. I felt strange. Is this what being in love feels like?
All of a sudden the door to my room opened and my sister was there.
"Hi Jiyun." I sat down, facing her.
"Hi." She greeted back.
"What are you doing here?"
"I just went around and thought I might pay you a visit..."
"You know it's bad to lie. Come on, tell me the truth."
"I was thinking... Will I ever see the guys from the coffee shop again?"
"Sure, why not? We can visit them tomorrow.""Why don't we go today? After lunch."
"Fine, just because it's you..."
"Thanks! You're the best!!" She went straight to me and hugged me.
"No, you are. Where is mom? I'm gonna tell her, okay?"
"In the living room, she was reading just now."
"Alright. I'll go to her. Do you want to join?"
"No, I'll go back to my room."
"Alright." I stood up, flashing a genuine smile her way. The little girl smiled back and we both went our ways. I'm so glad I have her."Mom?"
"Yes honey?"
"Jiyun thought we could go to the coffee shop after lu-"
"Who "we"?"
"Me and her... Why?"
"Just asking..."
"Mom, tell me. Please."
"It's just that... I want to go too..."
"Why?" My eyes widened as I blurted the sentence out without thinking.
"Why not? It'd be a great oportunity to meet the boy who makes you happy."
"For some reason I think you have a different reason, but whatever. We all will go. Just know that we're fine. Okay?"
"Sure thing!"I was about to go to my room, when mom said that lunch will be ready soon. I just lightly smiled to myself and went upstairs.
Later that day we had lunch and I could tell that mom was excited. She kept smiling all the time and even finished first. She seemed more excited than Jiyun and even my little sister seemed way more excited than I was. What is wrong with me? I should be the most excited... Instead, I even feel like not going a little...
The three of us dressed up and went to said place.
We were walking for a while and then on our left a small building was slowly becoming more and more visible. And there it was, my favorite coffee shop. Yet I was as nervous as never before.
Something felt wrong. My mom didn't wanna go just to meet him. She just didn't.
"I don't have a good feeling about this..." I begun.
"But Seungkwanie, you don't want me to meet him..." Mom suddenly said sounding sad.
"I do, just not now... You know... We recently just got back together after the fi-" I was trying to cover it up, but she cut me in the middle of my sentence.
"It'll be fine." She smiled, which made me feel even more nervous and unsure. I was right, she definitely isn't here just to 'finally meet him'.We stepped inside and the two boys, the only employees, looked at us. Hansol looked at my mom, my sister and then me. I gave him a tired smile. He quickly said something to Mingyu and disappeared behind a corner.
The boy looked confused, but then looked at us and smiled warmly.
Mom went to the counter and we followed her like two shadows.
