^^Villa on Ember Island^^

"I'm here," I hear Kirk pant out.

"Good. Victoria is out cold," I point out the obvious.

"What's the game plan?" Russel joins the conversation.

"Let's take her back to Ember Island," I finally decide.

"If that's what you want, Boss, then sure," they relent.I scoop Victoria up, bridal-style, and walk out the door.

"Boss!" I hear Kirk yell out.

I stop and turn around, "Yeah?"

"Will she be okay?" he asks worriedly.

"I hope so," I say desperately.

"Good. Now, let's split before the cops get here!" he states the obvious.

The helicopter ride seemed to last longer than usual as I cradled Victoria's slender body to my chest. She was still out cold when we touched down and rushed inside. I laid her down on the couch and grabbed a damp cloth. I wiped her face and prayed for the best. A couple of minutes later, she began to wake up.

"Victoria? Are you awake?" I softly ask.

"Hmmm," I hear her try to answer.

"Come on, baby. Wake up," I prod her.

Her eyes flash open, and as her eyes focus on my face, I smile. However, as soon as she recognized my face, she bolted upright and began to run for the door.

"Victoria! It's alright! You're safe now!" I try to calm her down.

She still kept running, trying to find an exit. I try and intercept her, but she's small and fast! She finds the front door and begins to unlock all the locks. Once finished, she prints outside, adrenaline pumping.

"Kirk, Russel! She's getting away!" I yell frantically.

They immediately come from inside the house and join me. I pump my arms and take deep breaths as I slowly catch up to her. She was heading for the docks where the boats are parked. I hope she'll forgive me as I tackle her, but make sure she lands on top of me, and I envelop her in my arms.

"Victoria! Calm down!" I growl as she squirms in my arms. After a minute or two of her fighting, she starts to calm down.

"If I let you go, will you just hear me out?" I beg.

She nods, and I release her. As soon as I do so, she whips around and then slaps me straight across my face.

"Ouch. I guess I deserved that," I mutter darkly.

"Yeah, you did!" Victoria retorts back icily. "I believe I deserve some explanation," she demands.

"Fine. But not here. Let's go inside," I negotiate.

I gently put my hand on the small of her back and guide her into the house. I sit her down on the couch she had woken up on earlier.

"First, my name is Tristan Valentino," I begin, "I'm the leader of the gang, Aurora and these two knuckleheads are my bodyguards/assassins," I indicate to Kirk and Russel. "I'm wanted by basically every government agency out there, but thanks to Ember Island, I've managed to elude them. Ember Island is the island we are currently on, and I own it. I recently was put back on the radar by my rival gang, the Spades. I was trying to find a place I could chill for a minute, and that's when I ran into your diner. It was like something had clicked and fallen into place when I saw you. Your face has been plaguing my thoughts and dreams ever since. I managed to convince these two to let me come back to the mainland to see you again. I didn't think the Spades were capable of tracking me to you. You were there when they caught up to me. Since they know you mean something to me, they will now target you to hurt me, which brings me to why you are here. After you passed out, I brought you here for your safety," I finish.

"Why me?" Victoria complains crossly.

"You're the one person I would give my life for, Victoria. You are my Queen," I say seriously.

"You've got to be joking! I can't stay here! I'm trying to become a doctor! I have a life to live- one without you in it!" she rants.

"Victoria! You don't understand! You don't have a choice in the matter! You are MINE!" I explode.

I could instantly see the change in her eyes. What had been a stubborn look of anger was now a look of fear and disgust. I had gone too far.

"Victoria, wait!" I yell.

She had scrambled up from the couch, any trace of sleepiness gone, and dashed up the stairs.Victoria's POV

"What is he thinking?! I am not his little lady that follows his beck and call! I simply refuse. He'll see that not every woman falls for his charm," I mutter to myself.

I look around the room I had stormed into and see what looks like a guest room. Of course, I do the only sensible thing a girl would do in this situation. I grab anything within reach and begin to chuck it against the wall or out the balcony. The balcony provided me a nice view of the backyard. Beyond that, I glanced longingly at the beach and ocean waves. However, the one thing that provided me with a sense of peace and tranquility was impeding my escape; and ruined any chance I had to do so. I storm over to the door and fling it open. As I go to walk out of the room, I see one of Tristan's bodyguards. He had been standing outside the door this whole time. That's embarrassing.

"Uhhh...hello?" I mutter uncertainty.

His deep voice throatily introduces himself, "Hello. My name is Kirk."

"Nice to meet you!" I say brightly. "Are you here to make sure I don't run away from "daddy"?" I sarcastically question.

"Mmmmm... I love the way you call me daddy," I hear from behind me.

I spin around, eyes wide, praying the owner of the voice was not who I thought it was. Of course, I was right.

"Tristan, get your mind out of the gutter!" I scold him.
