Before creation itself, there were six singularities.
When the universe exploded into existence, it sent these six elemental crystals across the virgin universe. These infinity stones each control an essential aspect of existence.
Space, Time, Reality, Power, Mind and Soul.
They lived a quiet existence, watching the beings of power coming into existence, seeing the world change and bend to their control, their wishes and desires fulfilled. Soon enough each crystal wished to create a form to more blend in with the beings that surrounded and, with the help of each other, formed their own bodies, their own forms.
Trying to interact with others proved difficult, their furious energy grew so strong that others were destroyed by it, while some sought to control them. Seeking their own freedom, Reality created different realities of the timelines Time had created allowing the stones to be broken apart and be hidden, so they could live amongst others. They would be safe, they would be hidden, they would not be exploited.
