Y/N's POV ~

Today was mine and Draco's 6 month anniversary. Unfortunately, he couldn't be at Hogwarts to celebrate with me, because his parents are sending him on some stupid month long task, so I hung out with the golden trio today instead.

As Hermione and I were sitting around the fire in the Gryffindor commons watching Ron and Harry squabble over that stupid Potions textbook yet again, my owl, Freya, swooped down through the open window, and dropped a slick, all black package in my lap, wrapped with a satin bow. I opened it tenderly, knowing exactly who it was from. A piece of parchment was folded neatly at the top of the slim box, and I unfolded it.

My Dearest,

I deeply apologize for not being able to celebrate this occasion with you. I have been thinking of you ever since I apparated home. Although I can't be with you on this day, I thought you might enjoy this, since I know you love music. I love you so much Y/N L/N, happy anniversary.

My heart soared, and I gently ran my fingers over the writing. As I set the letter aside, a scarlet wrapped envelope nested inside the box. As I lifted it out, I saw "Do not open until you are alone" written on it. I obeyed the strange letter, said my goodbyes to my friends, and headed off to my dorm.

I took a deep breath, and set it on my bed. It was clearly a howler. I let it go, and begin its speech.

"Hey, Y/N, I assumed you read my owl, and I know you're wondering why I sent a howler. It's because, I wanted to make a mix of our songs all together. This is a self preserving howler, so it won't be destroyed when it's over, and you can listen as many times as you like. Here goes...."

I heard Draco fiddle with some buttons, and a song started to play.

Immediately, my mind flashed back to 6 months ago, when I agreed to be with my icy eyed beloved. It was on the Astronomy tower...

I remember that day, it was freezing, Draco and I slow danced around the elegant structure in the middle barefoot, without a care in the world.

I remember when I slipped near the edge, and he almost had a heart attack then and there. After that mishap, he wouldn't let me go near the edge without my body smushed against his.

In a boys dream,

I giggled at that part of the song, thinking about the silly little daydreams he would have in class.

I remembered our first time going in public as a couple. The whoops and cheers we received from our friends, the glares from the Slytherin girls, and groans from our enemies. But Draco couldn't care less, I remember whenever someone would look at me weird when I was with him, he would immediately defend me.

The silly dance parties we would have in his dorm, listening to rock music, then usually ending up making out.

The day he decided to declare me the Slytherin princess. The tiara he made for me out of beautiful gardenias.

He is the love of my life. As tears shed my eyes, the song faded out. Then, a figure appeared in the door. I wiped my eyes quickly and shut the howler, not making eye contact.

"Oh, I-I'm sorry....do you need something?"

"Well, I think I need to tell my girlfriend I love her."

There was Draco, leaning on the door frame, with one hand in his pocket, and the other holding a bouquet of gardenias.

Of course, I sprinted into his arms, sobbing.

"Dray....I-I thought you were supposed to be gone...."

"Well, turns out, you turned me soft, so the Death Eaters didn't want me for the job anymore. So I came home immediately to see you."

I clung onto him and buried my face in his chest, scared that if I let go, he would be gone again.

"Come on love, let's have dinner in the Astronomy tower."

Once we arrived, there were candles floating all throughout the space, with a small picnic with champagne, just for us. It was perfect.

"Open the howler again love, let's listen to our songs."

As music soared throughout the crisp air, I turned to Draco.

"I love you."

"I love you too, Miss L/N."

He took my face in his hands, and kissed me with such passion, I thought I could've gotten knocked out. I kissed back, and everything melted away. All was right again.
