Chapter 1: Good old times

A/N: For the sake of this chapter, ima pretend they're around the same age :)

 
Gaege's (Juicy's) POV (8 years ago)
I was in high school when I bumped into him. Being the new kid was never easy, especially when I was a freshman. Luckily, he wasn't like all the other juniors who shoved the freshman around. Maybe that was why I had grown so fond of him.

"Woah!" I heard him say to me, taking a step back, "Sorry, didn't mean to push you. I'm just late to class."

I looked up at him, feeling heat trickle into my cheeks. "It's okay," I answered shyly, fixing my black beanie nervously. "I didn't see you there."

"I'm Eddie," He held his hand out, flashing me a smile with his perfect teeth, "Nice to meet you."

I grabbed his hand with a small smile, "My name is Gaege."

Eddie nodded, gesturing with a hand. "Come on, Gaege," He said to me, "Why don't we walk to class together?" I walked alongside him as we talked and laughed, feeling more happier now that he was here with me.

~Time Skip to Present Time~

My alarm clock ringed in my ears, making a groan escape my lips. I only had six hours of sleep. I had spent all night recording videos for my channel, which isn't fun after ten hours.

I sat up as I slammed my hand over my alarm clock, finally making it shut up. I rubbed a hand over my face, yawning as I stood up. I pulled a shirt lazily over my head, looking at myself in the mirror for a second as I blinked.

"Wow, I look shitty," I muttered, fixing my grey sweatpants. I ran a hand through my messy brown hair, starting to walk towards my kitchen as I yawned.

My phone went off and I looked at it with a raised eyebrow. "Mully?" I read the contact's name, answering the call, "Hello?"

"Ay, Gaege," Mully's voice sounded on the other line, "Are you up for a recording in an hour? We're going to call on discord and plan to do some crazy shit."

I let out a small sigh, hoping Mully wouldn't be able to tell how tired I was from the night before. "Uh..." I thought for a second, unsure if I should turn down the offer. "Sure. I can. Just as long as it's not too long."

"Yeah, I need to introduce you to someone," He told me, making me stop halfway through pouring coffee. "I think you'd like him."

"Woah, Mully. I'm not looking for someone to date right now." I leaned against the countertop with a sigh as I drank the warm, sweet coffee. "Why is it that you and Josh are always trying to get me with someone?"

"That's not what I meant, mate," Mully laughed a little, "I meant for youtube idiot."

Heat crept into my cheeks as I heard his laugh. "Oh, sorry... You're tone of voice threw me off."

"It's alright," Mully answered, "But we're meeting him today. Me and Josh already agreed that we're going to record with him." I nodded, taking a sip of my coffee, "Alright. I'll be online in an hour."

Eddie's POV
I was super nervous about what was happening. I had been a YouTuber for more than a few years now, but it was still nerve-racking recording with new people. Especially when they had a lot more subs than me.

I saw my new friends pop up on the discord call, and I smiled. "Hey, what's up?" I said to them, trying to sound as friendly as possible. "Hey, man!" One of the YouTubers, Narrator, said to me with a grin. "Is everyone here?" Mully asked.

I ran a hand through my dark hair, making sure I looked okay. "No, we still need Juicy," I heard Josh say as I started to fix my bandana. "Who's Juicy?" I asked, confused about who this person was, "Is he new also?"

"Not really. He's been with us for a while," Narrator answered me, brushing his beard in the mirror as he added, "He's cool though. I'm sure you'd like him."

I scratched my chin, trying to figure out why the name sounded so familiar. I felt like I heard it a long time ago, but at the same time, I didn't know why it struck a familiar string.

"Sorry I'm late guys," I then heard his voice in my headphones, "What did I miss?" I suddenly froze, not able to move when his eyes met mine. What the fuck was he doing here? I thought I would never see him again.

"Allow me to introduce a new member of our team," Josh said to Juicy, "This is Eddie. He also does VR content like us."

Juicy's hazel green eyes trailed over me on the camera, and I felt the room grow hotter. He wasn't even standing in the same room as me and I could feel his eyes drill holes into my head.

Although, the longer he stared at me, the more I knew he recognized me too. "Oh," Gaege rubbed the back of his neck, giving the others a quiet laugh, "Yeah, I actually know him."

"What?" Narrator shook his head, his eyebrows shooting up, "Really?"

I nodded in response, trying to gain my bearings.
"Yeah, we went to high school together," I said quietly, still not able to process what was happening.

"Nice to see you again, Eddie," He told me with an expression I couldn't read, "Seems like forever since the last time I saw you. Never thought I would see you again after all this time."

"Me too," I said, feeling a familiar ache in my heart. Somehow my past didn't let me forget what had happened to him no matter how hard I tried.
