These past few weeks have been quite stressful. We've been packing to move out of this hell hole into a new apartment complex. Today was the day we actually left though. I haven't seen the new place yet so I'm kinda excited for it. I shove a bunch of sources of entertainment into my backpack for the long car journey and zipped it up. "Y/n! C'mon we're leaving!" My mum called out. "Coming!" I called back, yanking on my worn, red converse. I quickly stood up slining my backpack over my shoulder running out the door to meet my mum. "Got everything?" My mum asks, bluntly. I nod as she locks the front door with worn, bronze keys. "Ok let's get going. Your fathers in the car waiting." She says turning on her heel and waking down the hall, away from me. I sigh before following her. We walk down the grimy stairway as our foot steps echo with each step we take. Walking out to the car, my mum open the car door and gets inside. I sigh before doing the same. "Hey kiddo, you got everything?" My dad says striking up a conversation. "Yeah they're fine." My mum says, bluntly making her way into the conversation. "Oh, ok then. Well let's get going." My dad says, slightly caught of guard. As we pull away, I put my headphones on and listen to some random playlist. I'm definitely not going to miss this place.

"Y/n? Hey Y/n! Wake up we're here!" I hear my dad say as he shakes me awake. My eyes shoot open as coming confusion flooded my brain. "C'mon we're here!" Reality soon smacked me in the head making me realize where we are. The new apartment complex. "Ugh this place looks like a dump." I hear mum complain as she picks something out of the car boot and places it on the floor. "Oh c'mon honey it's not that bad! Plus the rent is cheap and I'm sure Y/n will make some lovely friends!" My dad says giving my mum a kiss on the cheek. I gag and get out the car. "Yeah, yeah." Mum says rolling her eyes. I look up at the tall, worn building in front of me. Mum did have a point. This place did look kinda run down and gloomy. "C'mon sweets, let's go have a look!" My dad says giving me a head Pat. I smile before walking along side him. "I'm waiting in the car." Mum yells behind us. My dad pushes opens the cyan door before walking inside. I trail behind him looking like a lost puppy. The moment I entered the building, I could immediately smell old. It wasn't bad it just smelt very old. I look around the lobby taking in the scene. The place felt kinda off. I'm not sure what it was. It was eerily quiet. Creepy. "So it says here we need to find the apartment 108 Mr Addison is it? " Dad says looking down at a crumpled paper. I look around and see a green tinted door with a letter box with the words: Addison imprinted on it. "You mean that one?" I questioned pointing over at the door. As my dad looks up he smiles "Yeah! Well done sweets," he chuckles patting my back, walking over to the door. Giving a hard knock on the wood. I hear loud shuffling behind the door before the small letterbox swings open revealing big brown eyes, peering through at us." Why hello there! You must be new to the Addison apartments! I'm Mr Addison. You two must be the L/n's!" A shrilled voice spoke enthusiastically." Hello! Yes we are. We came to get the key? " My dad questions tilting his head slightly." Why of course! Just one moment! " The letter box shut with a snap, making me slightly flinch. My dad chuckles. A few moments later the letterbox opens again and bronze keys drop to the floor. I bend down and pick them up. "There you go! On your key it says what room number you are in!"
I look down at the keys seeing large numbers written on the key. "Thank you Mr Addison we'll be on our way now!" Dad says smiling as we walk away. "No problem!" I hear the small letter box snap shot again. "Hey sweets, why don't you go on up and me and your mum can unpack?" Dad smiles. "Sure sound cool," I say slightly smiling. "Great." Dad says before giving me a kiss on the forehead before walking away. I chuckle and make my way up the creaky stairs. I continued to walk up the stairs till I heard voices. People. I cringe and continue to walk up the stairs. As I turn the corner I see two figures standing there. One quite short with vibrant blue hair tied up into two pigtails and one tall one with long brown hair that looked like it hadn't been washed in years. They were both standing by a vending machine and their back were to me so they didn't notice my presence. I look down at the paper. I need to walk past them to get the apartment. Shit. I sigh and begin to walk again. I decided to just put my headphones back on and continue to listen to my music. As I walk past them Im pretty sure they're conversation stopped. I couldn't really tell because the music drowned everything out around me. I walk a few doors down and finally find the apartment. I look down the hall and still see those two staring me. I take my headphones off as they hang loosely around my neck and shove the key in the key hole. I quickly open the door and walk inside so I don't have to feel them staring at me. I sigh and look around the room. It was small but cozy. I think I might actually like it here.
