"Alys!"
The harsh whisper of the name belonging to the girl's friend left her lips as she once again caught Alys staring at the group of boys across the library. The girl had been asked by Alys if she would help with some homework she was struggling with, but she couldn't with Alys constantly getting distracted.
"Hmm?" Alys replied turning her head to look at the girl before looking away once again as one of the boys let out a loud laugh.
Sighing in defeat the girl stood up and collected her belongings. "I'll just help you on the bus tomorrow, ok?" Alys didn't give anything other than a curt nod in response. Nodding to herself the girl turned and exited the building, smiling to the old librarian a she passed by.
It was a beautiful fall afternoon, perfect for the long walk home, as the girl weaved her way through the crowd of people that continuously flowed up and down the concrete of the sidewalk. The buzz of the city calming her.
BOOM!!!
Suddenly the ground shook violently as a large boulder made impact on a building about three blocks ahead. The building crumbled, pieces of the debris hitting by standers.
BOOM!!!
Once again the ground quaked as another boulder hit a building only a block ahead. Before she could understand what was happening the girl turned and ran, her fight or flight senses kicking in.
The ground beneath her shook as she ran, causing the girl to trip over own two feet again and again. She continuously picked herself back up and stumbled on. She could hear people scream in fright as building fell and took out the people below them.
People ran past her, pushing at each other as they all ran out of fear for their lives. She could hear the sound of a child crying for it's mother, but as she turned to look a sea of terrified individuals slammed into her, pushing her out of the way. As she fought to keep standing she was violently pushed into an alley way.
The last thing she would remember was the pain of hitting her head as she fell onto the ground by a dumpster and the sound of someone screaming, "Dragons!"
For those who read this, thank you so much for doing so. I have high hopes for this story and hope you all will enjoy it.
