STEVE'S POV
"So what's the status?" I stand in the conference room as Fury briefs us.
"Hydra has been stealing ships and lab equipment from around the globe. They seem to be trying to create a new super serum," Fury explains as he displays a map showing all of the places Hydra has raided.
"A new serum?" Natasha asks, "that means that they are going to need lab rats."
"Yes," Fury confirms, showing and image of a girl, "y/n Hidesmen, age 22. We received intelligence that Hydra has been keeping tabs on her. We suspect they are trying to use her as their rat, voluntarily or involuntarily."
"We can't let that happen," Bucky says getting to his feet, "They'll brainwash her."
"Barn's is right," Fury agrees, "which is why we are keeping tabs on her too."
The screen displays the living room and kitchen of an apartment with a young woman cooking. The screen splits, showing the different rooms in the apartment.
"We have eyes on her 24/7, if Hydra attempts anything, we'll know."
"But why her?" Wanda asks, staring at the woman, "Why her specifically? Hydra has to have a reason."
"We're still working on that," a file appears on the screen, displaying the woman, "she's been all over the world, is fluent in nine languages, and is practically invisible where ever she goes."
"She's a nobody," Clint says, "if she's invisible where ever she goes, then no one would notice if she goes missing."
"Perhaps," Fury clears the screen, "but we think that there might be something more to it. We've initiated 'Watch Dog' protocol, so we have agents close by Incase anything happens. Agent Romanoff, I would like you to try to get to know her."
"On it," Nat nods to him.
"Dismissed."
We leave the conference room, Bucky in my tail.
"Hidesmen," he says grabbing my arm.
"I know," I stop and turn to him, "we can't tell the others, not yet."
"They're gonna find out," his eyes show concern, "then it's gonna be too late."
"We'll just have to stall for time then.'
"How are we supposed to do that?"
"I don't know."
