To win a battle you must fight as if you are already dead.

In my life, I do this a lot and some are worse than others. This is my story on the biggest battle I have ever had to fight, leaving the people I care about the most without anything but a letter. A letter to the person I hated most, a person who broke my heart.

Camilla's POV

Shit. This was bad and not going to end well.

"I'm surrounded, someone tell me where I can go!" I whisper shouted into my earpiece. The sirens were louder and cops were chasing me, and getting closer. The blue and red lights flashed in my face as I ran as far as I could get to.

A cliff.

"Camilla there is no way you're getting out of there unless you jump." Joey, one of my best friends said with a laugh. He was joking obviously but that was my only option. This mission was going to be hard and I knew that but I thought I could get out of this one.

The lead officer walked closer and closer still pointing his gun at me. Along with a large group trailing behind him, also with their guns drawn and walking towards me. I kept trying to think of a way to get out but I physically cannot. I'm screwed.

"There's no way of you getting out of here, baby. So why don't you just surrender and we can all go home. Except for you of course." The officer said with a laugh.

I was about to do something bad, really bad. I ripped out my earpiece kicking it off to the side. I could hear the faint sounds of my friends' voices yelling at me not to.

"Listen, buddy, I don't do the whole jail thing. It's overrated" I told him backing towards the cliff almost at the edge.

"We'll see about that. You're cornered and can't go anywhere without dying." He was still trying to get me to surrender, how pathetic. I was going to make him believe he was winning though. I threw my hands up, surrendering to them. "See I knew you would surrender...I knew you would."

I walked towards them still with my hands up then proceeded to say, "Goodbye fuckers. Non mi prederai mai." I stuck up my middle fingers and waved them all a little goodbye. Then I turned around and I ran as fast as I could jumping off that cliff. I heard shots go off on my way down but they could have never gotten me because I am just that good. Not to sound cocky or anything.

I was falling but it wasn't fast. I honestly felt like I was floating, until I wasn't. My body slammed into the water but all I saw was darkness. Am I dead? I sure hope I'm not.

A few hours earlier...

We were all getting ready for a mission, packing up the gear into the van, and making sure everything was working the way it should. Checking the earpieces and cameras near the area the mission is set at. This was going to be a dangerous one and if I'm being honest I was a little scared.

All of us were going on this one. Francesca, Alessia, Luca, Joey, and Giovanni. I never truly enjoyed working with Giovanni, I hated it. Ever since we met the only time we never fought was on important missions. I hate to say it but we work well together, both of us being some of the top-ranked assassins in the mafia. Even though me and Giovanni never really got along all of us were extremely close. One way we bonded is the way we grew up. I don't think anyone can top all of our childhoods put together.

Francesca and I have been attached at the hip since we were born. I was born a little under a year before but she has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. No one has been there for me more than she has. Francesca has seen a side of me nobody else has. We grew up together, training together, talking about boys, and all that girly shit.
