Jisoo's POV

"What? So you went into the janitor's closet and saw this object, and you even want to try it?" Nini asked me while adjusting her glasses.

I was at the canteen with my friends, they were the only people I consider as close to me, and right now I'm sharing to them something odd.

"Well yes I was drawn to it, but what on earth would happen to me if I try it?" I replied.

"Yah if you want to make sure why don't we just go to that janitor's closet and see the object for ourselves." Chae told Nini and Pokpak

"Yes, that way we could really know what Jisoo is talking about." Pokpak added.

"Alright then, let's go after we eat." I replied.

Author's POV

After eating lunch with them, Jisoo brought the three girls with her towards the janitor's closet.

Jisoo went inside first, then followed by them.

She noticed that the old lady wasn't there and in their very eyes stood that large object.

"Woah, what is this?" Pokpak asked

"I know..."Nini's eyes sparkled as if she saw a very precious item.

"Wait a minute...this object is familiar. I've done a lot of past researches and its figure seems to be similar to the machines that is known to lead you to an alternate universe." Chae said, being an intellectual, she always knew a lot of things.

"Woah.. jinja? Yah... this is cool!" Nini exclaimed.

"Umm guys, I think we shouldn't just try it. Who knows what might happen." Pokpak said in her nervous tone.

"Yeah me too, I'm scared to try it." Chae also said.

Jisoo's POV

Me too actually, but I'm still curious though..

I led the girls back outside as we continued walking and changed topics.

I didn't even believed in alternate universe, and now what is this?

I gave out a sigh as I followed after them.

[night at school]

V's POV

Here we are again practicing for our dance project and I'm seeing her again.

This is such an eyesore damn!

The way she dances just make me want to puke.

"Hey V! Look at your girl!" Joonie teased me again as he pointed to her who was now looking at us.

"WILL YOU STOP IT?!" I unintentionally made my voice loud earning stares from our other groupmates.

"Yah Joonie, don't you get it? Stop teasing her with him. I mean look at her." our leader, Sunmi stated and started laughing.

The rest of our groupmates laughed and I rolled my eyes leaving the classroom.

Jisoo's POV

I can't pretend that I'm not bothered with this anymore.

I also went out of the room and saw V outside, staring down at the building below.

As soon as he saw me, he walked farther away from me.

"Does it look like I have some contagious disease?" I shouted at him.

I couldn't bear his nasty attitude. Why do I even like this jerk?!

"Yah, just don't go closer to me. Learn how to read the signs idiot!"

I looked down in pain, this made me feel low especially on my self-worth.

Why is it always me? Why am I always rejected and ignored? And even his own friends, why do they hate me so much?

Am I not special? Can't he just accept me for who I am?

Or can't he just tell me we're better off as friends, rather than stating those hurtful words.

I'm such a fool.

I walked away, resting my palm on my chest as tears fell down my cheek.

Such a jerk!

Then suddenly I remembered two particular statements the old lady told me from yesterday

"I see that you feel rejected right now."

"Alright...but just know.. You can come back here if you'd change your mind."

I've thought, what if these two statements are interconnected.

What if... that machine will really change my life?

I mustered up my courage as I bravely walked towards where the janitor closet was.

As I entered, the old lady was already there in front of the machine.

Crossing her arms and smiling at me.

"So young lady... did you change your mind?"

I looked at her full of intensity.

"I changed my mind." I replied with such conviction.
