Prompt: Auntie Farah's birthday is coming soon and Terra wants to surprise her with a present, but she needs Saul to help her.

"Uncle Saul?"

The specialist looked up from paperwork that he had been given and that he was struggling with. It wasn't that he couldn't do it, he was more than capable of dealing with them, it was just that it was an incredibly boring task and he'd rather slam his head in a car door than look at paperwork. He leaned back in his chair patting his lap to invite his niece to join him.

"What do you need sweetheart."

The little earth fairy clambered up onto his lap and held a miniature calendar up to his face. He loved seeing her carrying that thing around. Ben had got it for her when she kept going on  about Farah's office calendar.

"It's Auntie Farah's birthday soon."

He nodded as he pinpointed the unmissable date circled in red.

"Yes it is. why are you bringing it up?"

She pursed her lips and tilted her head to the side, her eyes widening as she stated her reasoning in a very matter of fact manner.

"I need help."

"With what?"

"Well..."

She was tired, no, exhausted. Her day had been long and extremely frustrating. It had started with a fire that had accidentally been set in a suite by a fire fairy, she had then had classes where multiple accidents had happened, and her day had ended with a surprise hologram meeting from the queen. Not the ideal day. Now she just wanted to go to her rooms and collapse on her bed. She had almost made it when a student came hurtling around the corner.

"Miss Dowling!"

She turned to face one of the specialists running towards her. The girl looked as though she had run two miles before tracking the headmistress down. She was sweating, her hair was falling out of its neat ponytail, and her breath was coming in short pants.

"Miss Dowling it's..."

The teenager broke out into a fit of coughing as the caught in her throat.

"Aria is it?"

The specialist nodded frantically.

"Calm down for me. Take deep breathes. In and out."

The girl took deep breathes, settling herself before standing straight to look at her headmistress.

"Good, now tell me what has you rushing here in such a flap."

"It's headmaster Silva, he needs you, said it was urgent Miss."

"Where is he?"

"At the clearing near the edge of the barrier."

"Go get yourself back to your suite, thank you for telling me."

She waited until her student had rounded the corner, out of sight before she started running. If her student had been so worried there must be something horribly wrong.

As she neared the clearing she found a moss green path bordered by petals that glowed in soft pink and orange colours. She followed it knowing that it led to the clearing, her curiosity spiking as the opening ahead of her seemed filled with light. Curiously but cautiously, she made her way to the end of the path and into the clearing.

The usually dark, shadowed clearing looked like a scene out of a fantasy movie. It was lit with hundreds of small fairy lights that draped across the branches of the pine trees and lanterns with flickering candles bordered the edge of the trees. In the middle was a slightly raised, large hammock shape of interwoven vines. Looking around she wondered what trouble there could be.

"Saul!?"

A head popped up over the edge of the hammock-like structure.

"Hello love."

She breathed a sigh of relief as he jumped over the edge and came towards her.

"Aria said you... She said it was a matter of urgency."

A sheepish look crossed the specialist's face as he scratched the back of his head.

"I forgot how talented that girl is. She should really think of espionage later on, she's got the acting perfected."

The mind fairy looked at him with wide eyes, a confused look on her face.

"What? Saul, what is going on?"

"First of all it was not my idea. Second of all..."

"SURPRISE!"

The fairy startled as her niece stood up in the hammock of vines with her arms spread and a wide grin across her face. Jumping out of the green the earth fairy fairy ran towards her aunt, wrapping her a tight hug. The elder woman picked her up as the small hands wrapped around her neck and her niece buried her head in her shoulder which muffled what she said next.

"Happy birthday Auntie Farah."

"It's not..."

The specialist stepped in and started leading his partner and his niece who was still clinging to the mind fairy to the other side of the hammock where small steps were situated.

"It is. You've been so busy that you forgot about it, but Terra didn't. She enlisted me to be her minion in her scheme."

The earth fairy wriggled out of her aunts arms and climbed the steps ahead of the pair.

"I wanted to give you a happy night. We can watch a movie. Dad managed to find an old projector thingy. We can also eat cake, Uncle Saul helped me make it. And we have pillows and blankets so that it's all comfy."

They half stepped, half slid down into the hammock structure and sure enough, it was covered in soft duvets, throws, and pillows. Terra took the mind fairy's hand and guided her over to sit amongst the blankets.

"Uncle Saul is going to get us cake, then we can watch the movie, and you can't do any work."

When the movie ended Farah found herself curled next to her specialist, who had fallen asleep, with her niece bundled up against her. The earth fairy yawned and looked up at her, a sleepy grin on her face.

"Did you like it Auntie?"

Farah kissed her forehead as she yawned again and snuggled closer.

"Yes darling, I did."

But her reply had fallen on deaf ears as her niece had fallen asleep, one hand sucking her thumb, the other clinging to the cloth of her aunts dress.
