The Wallace household was quiet--lovely, but quiet. Even as the living took their turns with showers and baths. Julia was the last to shower, so there was little hot water left for her--she didn't mind though.
When she came out of the bathroom, she was in little more than a light blue towel. Mrs. Wallace told her to change in the guest bedroom, so that's where she went. And just as Julia was brushing her wet blonde hair with her fingers, she noticed Luke staring at her from down the hall. She scrunched up her nose at him, telling him not to look at her. She wasn't self-conscious because he knew every inch of her body, but the staring was still unappreciative.
"How can you expect me not to stare when I know how beautiful you are over and beneath that little towel?" Luke asked with an upright-tilted chin. Julia blushed madly, her cheeks beet red.
"How can you expect me to think of that--" Julia shut up like a clam as she heard movement coming from downstairs. She ducked into the guest bedroom, then Luke followed her in and shut the door behind them.
"Julia, I still love you." Luke stated bluntly. "If you don't love me the way I love you, that's fine with me too. Just as... long as I know you're safe--that your family is safe too, that'll be enough for me." Luke's eyes ran over the curves of Julia's body, and she blushed again, averting her gaze from his own.
"If I told you I still love you, too, would you then leave me to change?" Julia asked, now looking in Luke's eyes. They shined in the light--he was so stunningly handsome. Julia wanted him back just as much as he wanted her back in his life.
"I'll ask for a mere kiss on the cheek from you." Luke's face turned a shade pinker--he'd never asked a toweled girl for a kiss before. This was the first for him--a first for Julia, too.
"I'll kiss you if--" Julia stopped herself, glancing out the window. There were no zombies she could see--none could see inside either--but she heard something out the window. Julia threw up her hands. "Damn me for this!" And she pulled herself closer to Luke, kissing him hard on the lips. "Damn me for saying this: I love you, Luke Wallace."
"And I love you, Julia Brown," Luke declared in return. "I don't care if I'm damned for this either--all I know is that I want to be with you." Luke ran his hands up Julia's little body, his lips seeking out her own for passionate kisses.
He had her back up against the door--rattling it, no less. Julia didn't care if she would be caught; she wanted to feel Luke's hands all over her body. She wanted his warmth, his touch, his kiss, his everything. And not even the dead would stop her from being with him.
"Share my bed tonight?" Luke asked huskily, and Julia nodded with another deep blush.
"Absolutely," Julia whispered in return. "Luke... I love you."
