It was a rather cold and sad night at hogwarts... each teacher frantically ran around making sure the students were alright. They laid a cold dead body on a bench everyone was familiar with, "whomever was to meet there they shall confess their feelings to one another" Poor boy had been waiting for a girl that night.. That girl was Mac Bell. He invited her to go to the bench to "study" but what she didn't know is that he was going to confess to her. But ...unfortunately she was caught up in detention and after she found out about a body found she ran and fell to her knees at the sight of her crush- no her best and only friend in the whole world lying on the bench with blood running down his face and a stain on his messy button up shirt. She was heartbroken..and so confused, now she knew why he wanted to see her. A month after that she wasn't the same and became more distant and mostly stuck around the lake or the library. She never not once looked in that courtyard.
______CURRENT TIME________
I look through my stack of books I had collected earlier today. The library was rather quiet today, well besides the sounds of the group of ravenclaws squealing over a slytherin boy. Lee lalonde, a 5th year slytherin boy. He tends to tease the girls despite him being gay, whatever floats his boat I guess. Lee and Brandon were best friends so his death took a mighty toll on Lee as well. I try not to pay him or the girls any attention. Besides, I don't need any extra distraction. I just failed two of my herbology tests. Brandon was my study buddy and got me back on track but ever since what happened, it's like my whole life is just a mess.I mean in charms i completely messed up everything. And got an F- now how in the bloody hell does someone get an F-! Anyways, just as I find where I left off Lee snatches the book from me and holds it above my head. "Lee Lalonde I swear to god I will -" He interrupts me. "OKAY OKAY I'M SORRY" He quickly sets it down. "Why are you even reading this stuff? I told you a thousand times by now that I'll let you copy I'm ace-ing all my classes." He says with a calming voice. I think for a second, yes that would be helpful but then again I wouldn't be learning anything. "And like I've said a thousand times, no." I say with my plain voice. He rolls his eyes and groans, bending his back backward. I shake my head. "You're being overdramatic, I appreciate you trying to help but I would like actual help not just answers." I say. After a while he ends up leaving and going back to tend to his whatever he calls them. As I gaze out into the courtyard from the window it's like my whole stomach turns into knots and my head feels as light as a feather, I can't even look at that stupid bench without wanting to break it. I shouldn't have pulled that prank on Ms. Sprout. I should have skipped detention. I would have been there for him when he needed me. He was always there for me and what I gave him in return was nothing. I gave him nothing but a headache. I was always worrying him and pulling pranks. I check the time and put all my books back and collect my bag. I walked to Mr. Lupin's class. Apparently he has that stupid closet out. I remember when he first took it out Brandon and I were in the back hoping not to be picked but of course like always Brandon was picked to go in the front of the line and all I saw was a hooded figure and he did the spell perfectly like usual and grabbed my wrist and walked out giving me a big F since I couldn't even do the task and walked out with him. No matter how much I asked or even how sweetly I said it, he kept avoiding my questions. Suddenly I feel a hand on my lower back, I quickly turn around to see a rather tall boy. As I look closer at his features I start to recognize him. Ethan Stone a year above me and Lee's. "So Mac, where are you headin' to?" He says as he goes to touch my cheek. I step back not wanting his slime filled hands on my skin or anywhere around me. "Prof. Lupin's.. Why? What do you want Ethan?" I say slightly annoyed. He smirks slightly, leaning towards me. I backed up against the brick wall, almost dropping my book I reached into my pocket for my wand. "Back off Stone..." I say with a shaky voice. " Or what? He isn't here to save you now." He says moving closer to me, just as he goes to place a hand on me, I hold out my wand. "Wingardium leviosa!" He starts floating up in the air, I run to my class. "M- M- Mr. Lupin there's a boy floating in the air in the halls' ' I say as I go back to my seat looking at the empty spot next me. I catch my breath and sigh looking out the window as I usually do and look out at the lake.
----FLASHBACK----
I look out at the lake seeing a family of ducks and I softly smile to myself. Then I feel air being blown into my right ear."Hey could you stop- " I get interrupted by a gentle tap on my nose. "Nope" Brandon softly smiles at me. "I- you- ugh, pay attention." I say. "Fine I will when you stop looking out that window every class." He smirks at me, wiggling his eyebrows, making me laugh softly. God isn't he the goofiest person ever? "Oh whatever Brandon."
-----END OF FLASHBACK----"Miss Bell? Hello?" Mr.Lupin waves his hand in my face. I snap out of my gaze. "Y- yes sir?" I say shakily. "Are you alright..?" He says while wiping the tears from my cheeks. I nod in response not wanting to draw attention to myself , well more attention. "Oh, well there will be a new student coming here in a few days and I'd like you to show him around. He will be going to all your classes. His name is Xavier." He says with the corners of his mouth tilted up. Great, this is just what I needed. It reminds me, Brandon always said that he would rather have his name as Xavier if he could even change it, and his hair would be blue and he would be dressed like the 'badass goth boy,' I remember because he told me this while we were by the river throwing rocks. I said that If I could change mine it would be Elizabeth and for short, people can call me Lizzy instead of Mac and I wouldn't really change anything else besides my voice or my weight really. But then again who doesn't ya'know?
