Final Chapter

Christine sees Erik. "Erik?" He looks at her. "You shouldn't have come down here." Erik told her. He sees Raoul with the Cross in his hand. "You really think that can hurt me?" Erik asked. "I'll get to find out." Raoul told him. Erik took off his cape and gloves revealing the back of his hands are burned like his face, and Raoul took off his coat, vest, and tie.  "Let's fight Erik."  Raoul told him.  Erik swings at Raoul but he dodge. "Come on I thought you were going to put up a fight." Raoul stated. Erik laughed. "Look who's talking, I have lived for more then hundred years, I fight, so don't fuck with me." Erik told him. Raoul punched Erik in the chest knocking him to the ground. "Good shot." Erik told him. He grabbed a sword and cuts Raoul's left arm. He grabbed the cross and throws it at him. The cross hit Erik's hand making him drop the sword. Erik groaned and saw some rope.

Erik grabbed the rope and wrapped it around Raoul's neck. "Now it's time for you to fucking die." Erik told him. Christine went to Erik. "Erik please don't." Christine begged. "Erik Carrière." A voice called out. They see Carrière without his jacket and vest. "Erik don't do this." Carrière told him. "Why Gérard, tell me why?" Erik asked. "Please, do your father a favor." Carrière told him. Erik got confused and let Raoul go. "Father?" Erik asked. "My dad died many years ago." Erik told him.

Carrière sighed. "Erik, you are my son, and the light of my life." Carrière told him. Erik remembered his father would tell him that. "Wait my father would tell me that." Erik stated. He looks at Carrière, but not like before, now he sees him as his father. "Dad?" Erik asked. "Yes my son, I am your dad, and you are my son." Carrière told him. "You're my father." Erik said. He hugs Carrière and they both started to cry. "Father, get Raoul and Christine out of here, they don't have to suffer like I did, because my dad will keep them safe." Erik looks at Raoul and Christine. "Go on without us Carrière." Christine told him. Carrière leaves. Raoul looks at Erik. "Erik can you wed me and Christine?" Raoul asked. "Yes, I will." Erik told him.

Erik grabbed a mask it's a simple white domino mask that hides 3/4 of his face. "Nice mask." Raoul told him. Erik laughed. "Thanks." He put it on and sighs. "Raoul Chance do you take Christine Daaé as your Wife?" Erik asked. "Yes." Raoul replied. " Christine Daaé do you take Raoul Chance as your Husband?" Erik asked. "Yes." Christine replied. "Then the power invested in me as The Phantom Writer, I make you one, Christine Daaé, you are now Christine Chance." Erik finished. Raoul kissed Christine. Erik took off his mask and gave it to Raoul. "Take it, it can be how you remember me." Raoul puts the mask on lifts it up to reveal his face and turns the mask to the right side of his head. "Thank you Erik for helping." Raoul told him. Erik sighed. "It was fun to help my friends." He looks at them, and gives them his broken mask. "Here, let this be proof that Cursed Spirits do except." Christine took the mask from him. "Now go, get out of here." They didn't leave. "What are you two waiting for?" A tear came out of Christine's eye. "Go." They didn't leave. "GO!" Erik yelled. Raoul and Christine run and leave. Erik looks at the picture of him and Emily. "I'm sorry Emily." He started to cry.

Raoul and Christine see Carrière. "Carrière!" Christine yelled. He sees them. "Raoul, Christine." He goes to them and hugs them. "I'm so happy to see you two got out okay." He looks for Erik. "Where is Erik?" Christine started to cry. "He stayed." Raoul told him. Carrière sighs. Carrière looks at the mask in Christine's hands and sighs.

It has a few months after Erik saved Raoul and Christine, she is heading home to France. "Well it was great to see you again." Christine told him. Raoul looks at his parents. "Mom, Dad, I'm going to France and stay with Christine." Marie and Philbert look at each other. "I think it's time." Marie told her husband. Philbert looks at his son and tells him. "Go on, make France know a member of the Chance Family has returned." Raoul smiled, get his stuff and went to France to live with Christine.

In 2008 At Paris Township High School's Theatre a black figure appeared and grabbed Erik's music mask and laughs, but the figure's laugh is likes Erik's laugh. "I am free." A raspy voice said.

Author's Note: So the ending is something I want to talk about, I know it sets up sequels and maybe you'll see one or three or more, but don't worry about it yet. I can't lie writing this almost made me tear up because this is one of the most beautiful endings I've ever seen, and yes in real life when I was in Phantom me and a few others thought this ending was what was needed. Also yes Gérard is a reincarnation of Erik's dad, that's why they have the same name. Anyway I hope you have enjoyed this story like I have, I'm sure this story will be perfect for anyone who loves Phantom of the Opera.
