Faint talking and shuffling is what I heard as my vision came into focus as well as feeling in my body. The voices and shuffling grew louder as my vision came into view and I could feel my body. "Hello? Miss?"

I turned to voice and there was what I believed was a nurse. She wore a white coat loose to her body and glasses that slightly magnified her eyes. They are a pretty greenish-blue. She put a hand over mine.

"Do you know who you are?" she said as she rubbed my hand. "U-Uhm.... No.. Not really." I stuttered. She removed her hand, nodded, and wrote on a clipboard I hadn't noticed was there. "Well let's start with the basics. Do you remember your name?"

I thought about it. "I-I think it starts with E..? Eve...?" The nurse tapped on her chin. "Eve..?" she muttered. I tried to think harder, was Eve my name?

*Two Hours Later*

I learned that the doctor with her pretty magnified eyes was Aster. Such a beautiful name. She had volunteered to let me stay in her house until I can get a job and in my own house. We were on the road and I figured I loved long rides.

The faint 80's music with the rumble of the car was just soothing. Her car consisted of crystals hanging from the review mirror, making a jingle sound and the faint smell of lavender. Aster's voice shook me from my thoughts, "So you like long car rides?"

Soft-spoken was how she spoke. It was lovely. "Uh... Yeah, apparently." She chuckled. Heat rose to my face as butterflies fluttered in my stomach. Aster handed her phone to me. "You can look through my playlists until you find a song you like."

After awhile of searching I settled on a hard-rock band called Motionless In White. "Ooooooo, you're like my sister. Loves hard-rock." Time passed and I played other bands like Linkin Park and Palaye Royal.

"Mr. Doctor Man, questions his hands. Lost his mind, but he's clinically fine!" Aster sang in her beautiful voice. I tried to sing along but messed up a lot. "Found a way to cope, needle in his throat. Falling down..." After a few more song we finally made it home.

"Cuz! I'm home!" Cuz? A nice looking man comes downstairs and waves hi to me as he pulls Aster in for a hug. A pang of jealousy fills me but I don't pay mind to it. When he pulls away, he gets a good look at me. Looking me up and down.

I don't know why, I mean I'm just wearing is sweatpants and a plaid button up Aster had in her trunk. Then it clicked. "Oy. Quit staring. She's too beautiful for you." Aster said blocking her cuz's view. My heart fluttered.

I held a hand to my chest as they walked into the kitchen, her cuz lingering behind a little before being called by Aster. I walked around the house, looking around at the photos around the house. Most were just of Aster and her cuz.

Another supposed family member here and there but nothing much else. There was one particular picture that caught my eye. It was Aster and this girl in a field full of flowers, kissing. The jealousy came back and I shook it off. A call came from the kitchen shifting my thoughts from the photo to my hunger.

All three of us sat around a square table with 4 seats. Aster sat at my left, her cuz at my right. "Oh! Did I tell you my cuz's name?" Aster said, hand covering her food filled mouth. "Um.. No I don't think you did."

Aster nodded and waved her hand around before taking a swig of water. "His name is Jeremiah. Jerry to close friends and family." He nodded as he took a swig from the glass of wine he had. I nodded as I continued eating my food.

A knock soon came to the door and Jeremiah got up to answer it. "It might be the hair products I bought." After he disappeared I spoke up. "So, who's in the photo near the stairs?" She gagged on her food. "Uhm.. Damn it. I forgot to take that photo down a long time ago.."

I instantly felt guilty as she soon got up, supposedly to take down the photo. Suddenly loud arguing could be heard from the front door and Aster sprinted out of the dining room as I quickly finished my bowl before running after.

"For the last goddamned time, she doesn't want you! She moved on a long time ago, you should too!" As I neared the door I saw a lady with dirty blonde hair and deep blue eyes. She was light skinned and was wearing a crop top with shorts. She was the lady from the photo..

"Please! I didn't mean to hurt her, you know that!" she cried out. Aster soon stepped in with the photo in her hands. She slammed it into her chest. "Take that and your mistakes out of my life! I gave you everything and you ruined it all. I don't want you or need you anymore. I'm better now and I don't need you pulling me back to the bottom."

Aster stood tall, not a single piece of remorse in her eyes. The lady just stood there tears falling down her cheeks, looking like an absolute mess. Her gaze shifted over to me, her eyes then filling with disgust and jealousy. Aster's voice rang out.

"If you really wanted to make thing better then go away, fix yourself, then maybe I'll change my mind. I've fallen for your games too many times. Now go fuck off." The lady's gaze lingered on me, as if no one else existed. "Who is she?" she said, voice laced with venom. "Did you not hear what I said? Fuck. Off."

The lady's act came back and she burst into tears running down the path that had led up to the house. Jeremiah slammed the door, the house shaking as a result. Aster breathed in and out while Jeremiah leaned on the door, head in his hands.

"Ash, we have to do something about her. We can't keep doing this." Aster sighed. "She'll move on eventually..." Jeremiah grunted. "It has been 6 months. Six. How much longer will it take for her?" "It's only been half of a year! She just needs more time to realize I don't love her anymore."

They suddenly looked in my direction. "I'm so sorry this had to happen Eve. Especially on your first day here." I was slightly taken back as Aster's voice that was once angry and loud but once again quiet and soft. "O-Oh! Y-Yeah.. It's fine. Really."

Aster gently smiled and walked back to the dining room. I looked at Jeremiah who just bounced his eyebrows at me, looking at where Aster walked off and back at me. Heat rose to my face and I shushed him. He burst into laughter.

I soon did as Aster just stood with a chocolate bar in hand wondering what what on in the few seconds of silence that caused us to be like this. Despite the happy moment though, I could see the lady standing on the sidewalk with none of the sadness from earlier.

Just anger and jealousy. And a curvy body...
