Sam giggled and hiccuped, quickly covering her mouth with one hand. I had just showed up and she was wasted before midnight. Typical.
I grabbed her thin arm and tugged her to my side. "Come on Sam, let's find me a drink." I laughed, and she followed suit.
I began tugging her through the flurry of people. With every teen I passed, the smell of booze and even weed got stronger. Elliot's parties were always the best, and being one of her best friends definitely had its perks. I was able to weave my way through the people rather effortlessly, as I knew this house like the back of my hand. Sam, however, was bumping into people, causing them to spill their drinks, but she just flashed her winning smile, wink and mumble a small sorry before they would grin and tell her it was fine. She was always a charmer.
As I found the kitchen, Sam began to tug in the opposite direction. "Mattie, let me go! I see Kent!" she whined, pointing to her very tall and very muscular boyfriend. I rolled my eyes, but released her arm from my grip.
She went tumbling to Kent, arms outstretched to grasp his torso. Seeing this, Kent untangled his arm from one of the many girls currently surrounding him and reached for her as well. She latched onto his arm, giggling, although I could clearly see his grabbing Kelly Richardson's ass through her leggings.
Dickweed.
I quickly turned and made my way into the kitchen, where the real party was located.
"Mattie babe!" Elliot squealed, grabbing my arm and tugging me to her counter. Knox and Sarah were standing around it, talking amongst themselves and laughing. ️Jess and Nikki were a whole other story, their team currently winning at beer pong. Peanut shells and empty plastic shot glasses littered the floor, and crunched beneath my white converse.
"Knox and Sarah were out in the first round, but I managed to put off our turn until you got here." Elliot said, tying a strip of green fabric around her frizzy blonde mane.
I scoffed. "That's what they get for not joining us."
Elliot grinned and nodded, trying a strip of green fabric around my head too. I tightened it, the fabric smooth between my cool fingers, and smoothed my silky dark brown hair.
"Ready? She needs a break." Elliot laughed, pointing to Jess who was currently struggling to chug another cup of beer.
I grinned wickedly, and nodded.
Elliot and I wormed our way into the crowd that had formed around the counter.
"Come on guys, make some room!" I laughed, elbowing my friend Trent in the ribs.
"Fuck off you ass!" Trent said, poking me in the side and grinning. I grinned back, before moving to the head of the counter, where Jess and Nikki were currently aiming another ball.
Acting fast, I snatched the ball from Nikki's hand. I shot a glance at our competition; Three hockey boys who were currently shirtless with big PH's painted in black on their torsos. The "Puck Hunters". How cliché.
"Okay boys, play times over! Ready for the real challenge?" I smirked, tossing the ball lightly in my hand.
They smirked right back. "What challenge? I don't see any." Ryan Finch grinned, wiping his blonde hair out of his eyes.
I rolled my eyes. "I happen to be right here Ryan. Would you like me to show you?"
Ryan laughed and nodded, shooting me a wink. I flicked my hair behind my shoulder and flashed my flirty smile. "If you insist babe." he grinned at me.
Some people around the table oohed, but I just ignored their noises and catcalls and focused on my shot.
With a flick of my wrist, I released the ball spinning in midair. It bounced on the table once, returning to the air with speed, before landing with a delicate plop in the very front of his cup cluster.
