Esfir P.O.V.Her mother didn't wish her a good day when Esfir left for school. She rarely did. There were days in which Irmona, her mother, worked overnight to build a bigger umpire than she already had and then there were days in which she was sleeping, exhausted.
So, Esfir, jumped in the car, that was parked outside their mansion, without saying goodbye, and told the driver to go to W.E.S.H . The school was private and only sons and daughters of presidents, political figures, CEOs, people born with privilege could attend it. And only influential families could send their children to the Word's Elite Students Highschool.
W.E.S.H, was a dream school for those who could afford it, but not everybody could enter. The W.E.S.H. entrance exams were hard and you needed to study for months just to have a chance to study at the high school that produces the next generation that was going to rule the word.
Esfir entered second in her class, after her best friend, Andrews, son of one of the most influential figures in politics. They had the same grade at the exam, but Andrews had more extracurriculars than Esfir. While she took 5 years of swordsmanship, 3 of karate, 4 of tennis, and 4 of management, Andrews did the same but he knows how to speak fluent in 5 languages and Esfir knew only 4.
Esfir waked the halls of W.E.S.H. The lockers were covering the muddy purple paint of the walls. Students were searching for their books or putting their backpacks on the metallic shelves.
Andrews P.O.V.
Andrews saw his target from the moment she stepped into the hallway. The girl was passing thru the crowding students. Her almost black hair was easily recognizable for him. The way she talked the way she moved, demanded everyone's attention. He respected her for that.
The boy grabbed Esfir by the elbow. She jumped and turned around, and her face transformed into pure fury. Or, so figureth Andrew, because he slowly let her go of her elbow and took a step back with caution.
"Sorry..., i didn't mean to upset you. It was a joke."
Esfir started laughing while Andrews visibly relaxed.
"You should have seen yourself! You looked terrified!"
" I was! You might seem calm but when somebody angers you, I swear to God, that everybody should just run if they want to survive."
"So dramatic!"
"It's true!"
Esfir knew that Andrews was right, but that didn't mean that she had to admit to it. She was happy when he changed the subject because he got tired of the uncomfortable silence.
"What is your first class?"
"English, whit professor Goossssbumpsss!"
"In that case, I wish you success in surviving the class!"
Andrew bowed as the subjects once did to royals, mocking the gesture. Esfir turned her eyes inside her head and left for class whit a wide smile on her face.
Efir P.O.V.
The class was boring. The many words that the professor cramped in one sentence made her feel dizzy. She knew what he was lecturing, she knew most of what the professors were teaching, but she played pretend, because as her mother sad: '' honey, as smart as you are, you can't acquire social skills if you are not in school with a student your one age". She also knew that those skills were important if you wanted to succeed in business, but now that didn't matter to her because she felt like she was wasting her time.
At the end of the class, professor Goosebups, noticed that she wasn't paying attention. So before the break could begin she was called by him.
"Miss, Esfir, please come to the front of the class and tell us what I explained today?"
Esfir got up. She took a step and out of nowhere her eyes began to unfocus. Her skin started to tickle.
"Miss, Esfir, are you alright? sad the professor seeing that esfir stopped and fell to the ground."
Now, her bones seemed too heavy and the ticketing transformed in pinching and then to burning. Everything hurt. She fought to remain concise, she tried to focus on the voices that surrounded her, or, on the details of her navy shoes. But it was for nothing because the pain was unbearable. Esfir couldn't think straight and she simply didn't need to anymore.
Darkness was waiting for her, promising comfort and she accepted it. She let herself fall into the abyss and, saddenly, the class didn't matter anymore, the classmates and professor screams felt like they were in a far past.
