You and Y/f were running through a huge storm to find Whitty, you decide to head home and put the search on hold, you find that Whitty was there the whole time. Y/f is pissed off because he left you in the rain, but you told them there was no time for that and that you just needed to warn Whitty about the taskforce that is coming after him, but after you hear what Whitty has to say, you realize there are two sides to the story that need to be heard...
Your POV, a few minutes earlier:
"*Huff, huff* Y/f, can we please go to my house? It's only a few minutes away.. and finding Whitty in a bad storm will be so hard, I can't even see!" I blocked my eyes from the rain that was hitting my face, the umbrella wasn't helping us so we just had to push through the heavy showers from above.
"Ugh.. You're right, I can't see a thing either!" Y/f's voice was very hard to hear, the rain was so loud, it was literally pouring at this point.
Present time, at your house:
We ran inside and slammed the door shut, locking it. We were super cold and we needed to change immediately, so we did, taking turns.
I heard some strange shuffling and I thought it was from outside. but then I approached my room and I heard it clearer than ever.
The only decent weapon for defense that I currently had was my kitchen knife. I slowly opened the door, and then ran into my room, looking around. But it was just Whitty himself.. Sleeping.
I dropped the knife on the wooden floor and it made a huge thud, causing Whitty to jolt up and stare directly at me. There was just silence filling the room, but it was broken by Y/f, asking me what the noise was and if I was okay. "Y/n, everything okay in here? I thought I heard some... thing.." Y/f's eyes slowly drifted onto Whitty, and back at the knife on the floor.
"Y/n, Y/f? What took you so long? It was-" Whitty began, but Y/f was enraged and cut him off. "What took us so long?! Not my fault that I had to pick up Y/n because you left them in the rain! *sigh* Anyways, we don't have much time so we both need to talk to you."
"Okay.." He was a little quiet, understandably. I picked the knife up off of the ground and I went downstairs to put it back where I got it from.
Y/f didn't start talking until I came back, it was important news for all of us.
"Whitty, Y/n and I were at my house when this strange man knocked at the door. You might just know him, his name is Updike.. and he basically is the leader of this taskforce that wants to kill you, Got it?" Whitty's eyes widened the moment Y/f said "Updike", and then he just looked down.
"Uh Y/f, don't you think that was a bit harsh? He's literally getting targeted, at least show some sympathy.." I gave Y/f the puppy eyes, they looked at me and their eyes narrowed.
"So, Updike still wants me dead?" Y/f and I were confused, what did he mean by still? How long has this been happening for?
"I'll explain from the beginning, I was created in a facility and I was going to be used as doomsday device, I don't have any actual parents, and I have been escaping from Updike and his task force for my entire life. I got my name from this nametag inside the facility, and I stuck with it ever since. Updike used to be a weatherman, but now he is the leader of 'The Greater Good'. Their main plan is to kill creatures like me because I apparently pose a threat to society. I know basic human knowledge from observing people when I am hidden, but I don't know too much about technology because I never got a chance to live normally with my life not being on the line. It has gotten so bad to the point where I don't stay in a certain area for more than a week. I wish people like Updike would understand how much pain I'm going through and how unfair this is to 'monsters' like me, but here we are."
My blood ran cold, I had no idea that he had went through so much.. Being chased his entire life by people who want him gone this second and not even getting the chance to live out a basic lifestyle...
Without thinking, I hugged him. I felt a sense of happiness and warmth hugging him. He put his arms around my back and hugged me too.
"Whitty.. Do you know where Updike's task force is located?" I pulled myself away from him, and held onto his shoulders.
"Yes, I'm pretty sure The Greater Good has an HQ in disguise here." He nodded. "Well, me and Y/f will go and look for it, and stop Updike and his task force once and for all. Meanwhile, you can stay here so nobody finds you."
I got up, and I gestured Y/f to follow me. We both got our jackets on, and we opened the door to see that the storm has passed. Before we set foot outside, Whitty came down the stairs and hugged us both. "Be careful you two..."
"We will, there's some food in the fridge and in the pantry in case you ever get hungry. We might come back if we don't find their HQ." I nodded.
"Cya later, Whitty!" Y/f and I waved at Whitty as he did the same back to us, and then we left. Now we are setting off on a new adventure to stop Updike and his crazy taskforce..
But first, we have to find it.
