After all the chaos that Ani, Yamin of Lunacy, caused, he was forced to spend many years in solitary confinement.
A lot of the Yamin tried to find ways to fix Ani's mind, but nothing worked. Ani could never go back to how he was before.
Ani had lost complete hope in everyone and everything.
----
When Ani became ninety-five years old, he was finally let back into the world because he was able to recover some of his previous powers of fortune; but he had to stay true to one rule, he could never interact with humans. Ani swore to himself and the other Yamin that he would never interact with a human again. Ani was given two guards, Koiyoma Aitatsu and Wier Ataki.
A lot of things changed since he had been kept in solitary confinement. Forty-six years ago, the Ghost Tyrant had been split up into two consciousnesses and sent to limbo for its crimes of tyranny. Yamin-Zexi'ji left to another dimension, which killed off their home dimension. And Tisimo never fully recovered from having Ani's black smoke in him, causing him to never work as the Yamin of War again.
While Ani didn't interact with humans, he spent a lot of his time down in the human realm. Throughout the years, he'd watch how the humans would interact with each other. They acted quite differently from when he was younger. They were more grateful and less entitled. And while that seems like something Ani would want, it made him increasingly angry. Angry because they showed compassion to people for the smallest of things. But when he did big gestures for many people, no one batted an eye.
Ani couldn't stand it. He could stand it at all. So, he left to another dimension before he could do things that he would regret.
Ani left to the dimension that his friend, Yamin-Zexi'ji, left to. Ani heard a lot of great things about that dimension from Yamin-Zexi'ji before their communication was cut off for unknown reasons. Yamin-Zexi'ji told him that they had found a family that was full of people with mystical and magical spirits.
Ani was also told that in this dimension, many people were praised for many things. Many people were praised for making the world a better place.
But Ani did go to stay in that dimension for that reason; and not just because he was angry. He went because he had fallen in love with a human who was like no other.
Before leaving, Ani had heard about the human when he sent Koiyoma Aitatsu to check out the new dimension. Koiyoma Aitatsu had become good friends with the human and he would talk about him a lot. At first, Ani hated hearing about this human; this human was the complete opposite of all the people Ani had ever known; and the complete opposite of Ani while he was also so similar. The human helped others, was grateful for everything, and had no sense of entitlement. This human helped others all the while they had no hope for the human race, this human knew that humans were humans; you can't expect much from them. This human was an enigma to Ani. He wondered why this person would help others even when they'd get nothing in return. This human reminded him of the younger him and he hated it.
But Koiyoma Aitatsu wouldn't stop talking about this person. This person didn't let others walk on them like your Ani did. The human knew how to put others in their place. This human just wanted to help because it was something they could do with their time.
This human pulled on every nerve of Ani's body. How could this person be real? Why would this person just want to help others for fun? Just why? Why? Why? Why?
Ani wanted to go to that dimension to tell that person that they're ruining their life. But when he finally saw that person in action, he really saw that that person was not doing it for anyone's gain. They were just doing it for fun. It was like a game for the person.
Ani felt so many things: anger, hate, wonderment, amazement, love, and much more. He hated this person because they were doing the thing that ruined him for fun, but he loved this person for that exact same reason. He hated this person because they made him feel so many emotions that he never felt before, and he loved that person for the exact same reason.
After watching the human for some time, Ani couldn't get rid of the urge to meet that person. The urge to make that person his, and for that person to make him theirs.
When an opportunity came, Ani inserted himself into that human's life; ignoring the one rule that he swore to himself and the other Yamin he would keep.
