Back and forth...
Back and forth...

The small reporter paced her room in distress.

She had been delaying on writing her newest report on the planet she was last departed on.

She was too interested on investing everything and how the people live there, until she was sent back with not even a blob of ink on her paper.

What was she supposed to do? The report was due in less than a week and no progress was made. Boy, would her leaders be upset.

"Ghosty, what am I supposed to do?" She asked the other in the room, to which he shrugged.

"I'm not sure. Do you remember anything from the planet?"

"Not much, but should I just write on what I still have or just make something up?"

"Just do what you remember. They might blow the planet up anyway, who cares?" She shoots the batsco a mean glare, making him silent for a few minutes.

"I don't really care that much for the planet, but I care about the people I met and hell, for even my own career." She walks over to her desk and moves out her chair then sits, "You know what they'll do to me and you if we lack of a report."

"Yeah... Just hurry and write on this one? It scares me to think those horrible things."

She pulls out a piece of paper, a bottle of ink, and a pen. She sits in thought for a few minutes before her hand starts drifting across the paper.

---

Only a few minutes later she has created at least 15 pages worth of information. It's not as much as she usually writes, but she feels proud either way. She sighs in relief.

"Oh my Zor, I'm so glad this is finished. It took a lot off my chest." She slumps down in her chair.

"See? I said you could do it!"

"Yeah, I honestly thought it would be harder to accomplish." She sits back up and puts away the ink she used and cleans the pen with a cloth. "I'm just glad that-"

A beep comes from her tablet. She picks it up and observes the message displayed on the screen. Her face pales.

"Wait... A new mission? There isn't supposed to be a new one until next month, right?" She asks, and the batsco nods.

"You think others got one too?"

"Maybe, but we can't say for sure-"

An announcement through out the hallways could be heard. She rushed to the door to hear better.

"Greetings, reporters! Due to fast working and many reports turned in already, we are sending out new missions early. Bring your tablets and your papers to the main stage. We can't wait to see your faces once you see the new planets we picked out..." The voice said, roughly and statically. The many faces she saw outside their doors gave confused looks, and talking enssued.

Everyone went back inside their dorms, and so did she. She grabbed her two main utinsils, and packed a small bag worth of things for departure to the new planet. A common rule for all reporters.

She, Marina, was exicted for her new mission.

"You heard everything right? They've got new missions ready!" She exclaimed, and Ghosty jumped around in excitement.

"Really? Good thing you got your report done."

"Yeah."

They were on their way out until she had to remind him- "Ghosty! Don't leave your orb thing, you need that."

The boy flushed in embarassment, "Right! I almost forgot that, thank you."

He flew back into the room, connected the orb to his collar, and then flew back out. Marina locked her door and then they headed off..

..to the room where it changes everything.
