If you have any old or short jeans that you never wear anymore, but you can still physically wear them, this DIY is a perfect match to grab a cute pair of shorts to wear.
You need: Scissors, the jeans, a type of sewing needle with thread or a stapler, red and white fabric paint, tape, and a star cutout outline.
1. Cut the jeans to your preferred length.
2. Roll up the bottoms and sew the rolled up part to the actual shorts. (Or staple them)
3. Take the white fabric paint and place the star cutouts around the left side of the shorts on the front. The border of left and right is the creased outline that runs along the zipper.
4. Paint the stars white.
5. Do the same to the left pocket on the back.
6. Place the tape along the right side of the shorts, and then take out every other line of tape. (So it looks like tape, no tape, tape, no tape, etc.)
7. Paint the uncovered part of the right side with red paint, aka, making the red stripes.
8. Place the tape back on the red stripes, take off the non red ones, and paint the uncovered parts with white.
9. Repeat to the back right pocket.
10. Enjoy!!
