(The Next Morning: Alicia's POV)

"Hey Alicia, can I borrow your sweater?" Morgan, my little sister asked as she bursts through my room.

"Only if I can wear you black skinny jeans." I bargained.

She squeals, "Yay!" and grabs my sweater as she gets ready for school. I get a text from Drew.

Drew- can you try to look decent today?... Friday you wore an outfit that deeply embarrassed me.

I scoffed at Drew's arrogance. I don't know why I even try with him.

When we get to school, Morgan races out of the car and off to her friends. As I walk into the school, I get the usual greetings from my peers.

"Hey Alicia!" my best friends; Tyra, Dominique, Deja, Mya, Monica, and Raven call in an awful unison.

I giggle, "Hey girls!" and laugh as they give me a group hug.

"Alicia, you gotta join the basketball team this year. We definitely need ya." Dominique insisted.

"I'll think about it." I giggled slightly. We all started talking and laughing about what we did over the weekend. But it was short-lived once Marcus showed up.

"Hey girls." he said with a smirk as he sat down at our table.

"Mhmm." the girls all harmonized. I just stayed silent hoping to go unnoticed. And that this fool was not trying to get back with me again. But of course I had no such luck.

"Lis-"

"I told you when we broke up that I don't ever want you to call me that, nor did want to talk to you! So whatever you have to say, say it to the next female that gives a rat's ass about your thoughts!" I bite down on my words.

He just smirks, "Did I hurt you that bad girl? Damn...all I wanted was a second chance. Or is Drew keeping you locked down like he be preaching about."

I scoff at the statement. Why are boys at this school so stupid?

"Don't talk to her like that. Drew 'owns' her just as much as you did, which is not at all you cock-eyed bastard!" Mya snaps.

"And you and that twisted-headed Drew and whatever other perverted jerk there is needs to get the correct facts before you go making an ass out of yourself, ya dumbass motherfucker!" Raven adds.

Marcus just scoffs and leaves the cafeteria.

"God, I can't stand that nigga!" Mya breathed out with a chuckle. We just laughed with her. Then Jeff, one of my classmates.

"Hey Alicia." he smiles shyly.

I smile back at him, "Hey Jeff, can I help you with something?" I ask.

"Yeah, did you understand Mr. Cunning's homework?" he asked nervously.

"Yeah, I finished it during class." I said proudly, amused by hi shyness. But before Jeff could respond, Drew pushed him to the side with a scowl on his face.

"I thought I told you to wear something decent." he hissed at me through clinched teeth.

I just scoff and walk away leaving him to argue with the girls. I can't believe him! Who in the hell does he think he is? As I walk down the hall I notice Michael Jackson leaning against some lockers by himself, as if he was looking for someone. 'Probably his girlfriend' I thought as I contemplate on whether or not I should talk to him.

I quickly decide that I should at least say 'hello' to him since there is no one else in the hall to assume anything.

"Hey Mike." I greeted him with a small smile as I continue walking on. His head snap up to look at me.

"Oh, hey..."

"Alicia." I say finishing his sentence teasing him because he was obviously zoned-out.

He giggles and smiles at me, " I know who you are... Alicia." he says playfully mocking me.

"I know. You were probably just waiting for someone so..." I trailed off as I began to start walking again. But his voice caused me to stop again.

"Actually no, but thanks for the assumption" he said with a smirk. We both were grinning silently at our own silliness. "You don't deserve the treatment that you've been getting from those assholes." Michael says breaking the silence.

I look up at him. "It was that big of a scene huh?" I feel so embarrassed.

"No need to be embarrassed girl. Pretty soon that will be me and Michelle."

And with that he walked into the cafeteria. I look at my watch and saw that bell was going to ring soon. So I decide to just head to class.
