The night was silent. The crackle of the fire was all that he could hear. The flames sent red sparks dancing through the breeze. Dream sat close on an old log, his face toasted warm, wrapping white bandages around the wound on his left arm.The pale crescent moon beamed in the night sky. After Dream was done with the bandages, he pulled his sleeve back down. The sounds of zombies and spiders came from the woods from far away, Dream was hoping the bright light of the fire would keep the monsters away. He was just grateful to be safe, grateful to have gotten away from the hunters. He wished he would have brought a weapon to fight back or at least scare them away. He probably would have escaped faster too. It took him long enough to run away from George.
George
Dreams heart soured as the memories flooded back into his mind. What happened then? What were these feelings Dream experienced? That moment of feeling so close to George, closer than he'd ever been. He still felt George's long pale fingers running in his hair.
What would have happened if the other hunters never found them?
What would he have let George do?
Dream was aggravated with his own thoughts. He just needed some rest, then maybe he'd forget about everything that happened that day.
------
The morning was cold and dry. The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the sky. Dream rubbed his bleary eyes, the dawn chorus melodic birdsong drifted in. Dream slowly stood up feeling the morning breeze hit his face.
He picked up his ceramic mask and put it onto his face by connecting the metal clasp. Dream figured he should go mining to get some extra lout in case of anything. He grabbed a bag and an iron pickaxe. He then put on his scabbard allowing him to put his sword on his back in case of any monsters. Also in case, the hunters found him. But they shouldn't find him.
Hopefully.
Dream grabbed one of his torches, lighting it with a flint and steel. He approaches the nearest cave and takes a deep breath before walking in. He uses his torch to light the way, Dream's shoes felt hard against the wet stone floor. The wind shrieked through the hallows and gaps of the cave.
Stalactites hung from the ceiling, the sound of water dripping echoed throughout the cave. Dream looked around scanning the cave for anything useful. Then a few feet away he spotted iron. He walked up to it and sat on his knees to reach the irons level. Once Dream started mining the iron made loud rock crumbling sounds. As his pickaxe crushed through the rock he eventually made it to the iron which he picked up and put in his bag.
All of a sudden low moaning noises came close to Dream. From the corner of his eye, he spotted a dark green figure. His stomach clenched, a zombie was headed his way.
Dream jumped to his feet. He pulled his sword out from his back and darted towards the zombie. He jumped up to the monster and stabbed it in the heart. Quickly the rest of the life remaining in the zombie escaped without a sound. Dream used his foot to pull out his sword from the zombie, causing its corpse to collapse on the ground.
He sighed in relief, he didn't know how many more monsters he could take. Dream threw his sword back onto his scabbard. He went back to grab his pickaxe, torch, and bag. Then he planned on looking around the cave for just a little longer.
Dream began walking farther into the cave. He heard the sound of a bat's wings flutter past his head. As the briny smell of slimy lichen came from nearby, Dream spotted a vibrant sparkling glow from the distance. He walked up closer to take a better look. His eyes widened.
