It started light, a drizzle at first. Then, as time passed, the rain got heavier, beating down hard upon the poor souls stuck outside in the streets.

The windows of the apartment were closed except for one. Michael had forgotten to shut it and the rain rushed in, leaving a large puddle on the bathroom floor.

The heater was turned up and most of the boys were curled into a ball, a blanket thrown over themselves. Ashton was in his orange onesie.

Back home in Australia, it was never this cold and they never had to shiver under woolen blankets and warm themselves with hot chocolate. Not that they were complaining about being in London. It was absolutely fantastic here and they were having the time of their lives.

While three of them were in the living room, watching an episode of Doctor Who, Luke was in the showers.

He had turned the knob so the water pounding on his back was the hottest possible. He closed his eyes and relaxed.

London was everything he could've imagined and more. They'd taken pictures in booths, eaten fish and chips, gone to the London Underground, and visited Buckingham Palace.

The place they'd moved into was a cosy apartment, even though they had to share rooms. No adult supervision, save for the regular phone calls from their manager and parents, what more could they ask for?

They were set to tour with You Me At Six in April and they were going to be writing their album over the next few months before the tour. The band was bloody excited, and their fans were the best, supporting them with every single step they took forward.

Luke felt a tug at his heart. He loved London, but damn if he didn't miss Australia. He missed home. He missed sitting around in singlets and boxers, he missed their threadbare couch. He missed the heat. He missed his mum and dad, his friends. All of them. He missed home so bad that on some nights, he wanted to catch the soonest flight back to Sydney.

But that was not an option. They were incredibly lucky to be in London, and so he had to deal with the homesick ache in his heart every day. At least showers like this could help.

Luke was reaching for the shampoo when he felt a strange prickling on his shoulders.

Shit, the water was turning cold.

"No, no, no," he muttered under his breath, as he quickly twisted the cold water knob. But it was to no avail. The hot water had run out and icy cold water was splashing him right in the face instead.

He let out a frustrated groan and turned the shower off. He reached for the towel and proceeded to dry himself up before wrapping the towel round his hips.

He left the comfort of the steam in the tub and pushed aside the shower curtains, stepping out of the tub.

Bloody hell, it was cold, he thought to himself. Was he standing in a puddle? He glanced at the open window before looking at the puddle at his feet.

Luke made to step forward but he slipped on the cold water. He let out a grunt of surprise as he suddenly flailed backwards, his arm windmilling desperately trying to catch onto something. His head hit the edge of the tub and he swore he could've heard a loud resounding thud. He landed on the cold floor.

Pain shot into his skull and he scrunched his face up, tears springing into his eyes. They couldn't see clear anymore, everything was a blurry gray, steadily and quickly turning to black.

Calum was the first to realise that Luke had been in the bathroom for over an hour.

"Why's Luke taking so long?" he thought out loud.
