Galaxy life - Reptice origins

The time before winter

In a distant galaxy, on a planet that's called "The original planet" by the starlings that live on it. There was a scientists called Reptice, his job was to upgrade weapons and defense turrets on the planet. He was known for his quick learning, and his abillity to solve any problem that he faced. 

One day sereaching for crystals that were needed to make ammunition for turrets, he found a cave. The cave was filled with crystals that he never seen before. Crystals that he found were glowing with power, were incredibly cold and had a green colour. He decided to take the crystals to his laborathory. He pulled out some needed tools from his backpack and put them inside of a special jar that was supposted to protect him from any possible radiation that crystals could have. When he was about to leave the cave he noticed 3 frogs, they didn't seem like regular frogs because their skin colour was not yellow but seemed more like a combination of green and blue. He managed to catch one but the other 2 run off when he wasn't looking. When he was about to leave the cave and return to his laborathory, he noticed a starling skull laying on one of the crystals. He walked up to it and noticed that it doesn't look like it's been laying there for a long time. That skull could be laying in there for a few months at best. Reptice took the skull with him and reported it to his boss - The resitance leader, Elderby. 

Back at his laborathory Reptice thought that maybe he could use the power of the crystals to power the turrets, making them shoot faster than ever. First he had to check if crystals had any radiation, because if they had any negative impact on life he would not be able to make them a source of energy for turrets, because turrets are always piloted by starlings. So he locked the crystal in a room with different types of plants, the room had windows and plants were receiving water automatically. The experiment was supposted to last for a month, with him checking on plants every 3 days. The frog didn't seem to be any different from a regular frog, except for how it looked. The frog behaved just like any other frog and the crystals didn't seem to be the reason for it having a skin colour like that, futher resereach was required. Reptice locked the frog inside a cage where it would receive water and food everyday for a month. Reptice asked his boss if he could do any research on the skull in order to see if crystals had any negative impact on it, Elderby agreed as police could not do anything before Reptice told them if crystals had any impact on it or not. The skull didn't look damaged in any way so he locked it in a safe place, while waiting to see if the crystal will damage plants in any way. After a month plants were not damaged in any way and their fruits were completly the same. The frog was doing well and the starling skull he found wasn't different in any way, so Reptice declared crystals harmless.

Police found nothing in the cave and decided that if there was no evidence of anything, and not a single starling was reported missing they will close the case. Reptice was now free to take as many crystals as he wanted to his laborathory. Reptice noticed that crystals could be used as a power source all though they were not as powerful as star energy used in star batteries, mana lights and turrets that they were using. But unlike the star energy the crystals were not hot but cold, so he thought that maybe he could use them to increase the amount of star energy in turrets by balancing their temperature with crystals. Reptice made a blueprint of a thing that he called "Sphere" it was a device that was supposted to power the turrets of any kind, it was supposted to use the power of both crystals to make turrets even stronger than ever. During his experiment of creating a first prototype of a sphere the frog that he was now keeping as a pet was looking at him. It didn't look anywhere else even for a moment, it made Reptice nervous and he thought "maybe this frog is not just a regular frog after all" and then the star crystal and the crystal that Reptice called "the frost crystal" started reacting to each other in a different way than Reptice predicted. It didn't seem dangerous at first but then, a huge explosion happend! Both Reptice and the frog were covered in a very cold blue liquid. Reptice thought that this might be the end, but he didn't feel any pain. The explosion didn't cause any damage and it seemed not dangerous. Reptice felt a relief, and then proceed to note "Mixing the 2 crystals is not recommended without futher research as they are very unstable and unpredictable. Mixing them resulted in an explosion of a cold liquid that doesn't seem to have any negative impact on anything." Reptice obviously wasn't sure yet, the cold liquid maybe didn't damage him in any way instantly but it could be harmful over time.

Reptice couldn't sleep at night, his skin was itching. In the morning he looked into the mirror, his skin was turning green and his eyes were turning yellow. Reptice was terrified. He looked like a monster, he looked like the frog. Reptice quickly packed the crystal with himself and just when he was about to leave, he noticed that the frog is completly fine. That slightly calmed him down as he thought that he might look like a monster, but his life is not indangered in any way. He ran to tell about it to the other scientists, the frog followed him. He told them about the crystal and his failed experiment, but it seemed like they can't understand what he's saying. They were afraid of him and ran away yelling things like "MONSTER" or "THE CORRUPTED STARLING" Reptice didn't know what to do. Before he knew it a horde of marines were looking for him. They wanted to kill him. Reptice had to do something, if they see him he's going to die. When nobody was looking, he sneaked up into the warp gate. He noticed that warp gate is acting weird. He tried to get it to work but then somebody noticed him, a group of marines started shooting at him. He changed the direction and hopefuly, he's gonna be teleported to one of their colonies where he has a laborathory too. He's going to find a piece of paper and write what he has to say, and somebody is going to help him..... or so he thought. Reptice jumped into the warp gate and the frog jumped right after him. Instead of beign teleported to a colony where he has a laborathory, he was teleported to a very cold planet that was full of snow. Reptice didn't feel the cold, all though he didn't have time to think about that somebody was  for sure going to follow him and he had to hide. To his suprise, nobody was following him. The only living thing besides him were plants and trees that surrounded him and the frog...
