Stirring out of her sleep, Ryan reached over turning off her blaring alarm, yawning as she thinks of the hopefully short day ahead of her.

Swiftly slipping out of bed, she walks into the bathroom of her spacious apartment turning on the shower. As she waits for the water to warm, she scrolls through Instagram seeing a messy breakup on The Shade Room. This being the result of someone having a child on their significant other, it all just being another reminder of why she wasn't a fan of love in the first place.

Groaning and turning off her device she tosses it on the counter in front of her. Flowing memories from her childhood and past not being something she wanted to think back on right now.

After her shower and hygiene routine she slips on her favorite navy blue panty and bra set, looking at herself in the mirror, before walking out of the bathroom into her bedroom to search for an outfit. After finding one she quickly puts on the clothes.

Grabbing her purse she heads out the front door, not forgetting to lock it behind her.

After getting into her car she turns on her phone, seeing the time now read 6:27. Just as she's about to start her car, ringing abruptly interrupts her causing her to look down at her screen. Seeing it was her best friend Tanya, she immediately picked up.

Ryan and Tanya had met in middle school, when she first moved from her native island of Barbados, and they've been best friends since. Although Tanya came from a family of drug dealers and put up a hard exterior, it all got knocked down once you got to know her and realized she was a sweetheart.

Growing up they were complete opposites which is why they're still so close, their differences playing a huge roll to keep one another grounded. They had the typical high school friendship, Ryan being self reserved meanwhile Tanya was more headstrong and sociable.

Putting the phone to her ear, she started her car. "Good morning!" Tanya basically screamed into the phone.

Sighing Ryan shook her head "Lower your voice it is way too early to be screaming Tanya."

"Oh girl hush you work at a daycare you should be used to noise by now." Tanya replied.

"Speaking of my job, which I have to be in a few, why'd you call?" Putting her best friend on speaker she pulled off.

"I had just called to see if you could watch coco this weekend" Ryan rolls her eyes reminded of the previous time she watched her best friends dog.

"I don't know, last time I watched him he scratched up all of my furniture. Plus you already know I am not good with dogs." Stopping at a red light she sits her phone in her cup holder

"I know that but I promise this time it's only for the weekend and whatever he scratches I'll buy new." Tanya pleaded through the phone.

"How come you can never find someone other than me to watch your stankin' animal? I love you bitch but I am not watching your dog again." She leans forward coming up with a solution.

"Ry you're the only person I know who will watch his bad ass, who else-"

"Wait, how come you never ask Dia to watch him? You know that girl loves animals. " She replied, cutting her off.

"Oh you right, chile I'm just realizing that, lemme call her before she gets to work. I'll talk to you later boo love you." Seeing the light change she pulled off.

"Mhmm love you too." Saying their goodbyes they hung up.

Pulling into the establishment she'd been working at since she was 18, she parks her car grabbing everything and getting out of her car.
