Once upon a time in a novel there was a prince that needed a wife, for that to happen, all the young ladies in the kingdom from the age of sixteen to twenty were to enter The Selection.

In a futuristic world where society is divided into castes, with Ones as the most prosperous, consisting of royals and elites, and Eights who were mostly orphans, homeless, drug users, handicapped, and unemployable. Enters our female lead America Singer a Five, (the "artist" caste) America is a singer, plays various instruments and speaks french, our female lead is head strong and beautiful with great red hair.

Our male lead Maxon Schreave falls head over heels for the female lead the moment they meet, with a rocky start and a handful of problems caused by rebels, the king and a villainess called Celeste Newsome they end up being together.

The villainess Celeste was a Two, a model, Celeste's holds a sense of superiority over the lower caste competitors like America Singer. She is confident, arrogant, knows how to use her beauty, and is willing to do anything to win, even breaking the rules of the Selection. In the end Celeste makes up with America and the other competitors and just after she makes up with the other girls she gets killed in the final ceremony by a rebel attack.

I loved this novel, it made me cry, it made me love Maxon and America. There is only one problem: I died while reading this novel and I was reborn as Celeste Newsome. Destiny is too cruel! If I was to be reborn, why couldn't it be America's body? Why does it have to be the villainess that dies?! Just why?!
