"Darling, what are you doing standing in this rain?"
He lifted his hand to his ear, indicating he did not hear what the woman just said.
"Why are you standing in this rain!" She yelled louder.
He gave a nervous grin, and lifted his hand to his ear again because he still could not make out what she said.
The woman sighed and slowly walked toward the gloomy man's figure, being cautious not to fall on the slippery ground.
"Making me come out in this rain," She huffed out.
"I apologize, but I did not specifically ask you to come check on me."
She scolded the man. "Well I was worried about you, what else do you expect?"
"You're right, I'm sorry."
He had his hands in his pockets. He wasn't standing straight, he was slumped over. He turned his head back to the ground, his facial expression turning into a sad one
The woman gave a concerned look. She walked a bit closer to him, but still managed to keep her distance.
"L, what's wrong?"
Still keeping his eyes on the ground, he didn't give a response quickly.

"Nothing dear."

She figured she couldn't get a straight answer from him. She sighed as she saw her lover looking up to the sky. She saw how the rain fell on him, as it made his hair and clothes soaked. She couldn't exactly tell, but she could've sworn she saw the man crying. It could've been the rain, but she didn't want to ask.
He's so beautiful she thought.

"Do you hear them?" He asked.
"Hm, hear what honey?"
"The bells, they're awfully loud today."
The woman stuck her hand to her ear, looking around, trying to make any sound of these "bells" he was talking about.

"Honey, I don't hear anything."

The man gave an almost silent chuckle as he looked to the ground again.

The woman stared at him, feeling concern growing in the pit of her stomach.

"I wonder if they're from a wedding perhaps? Maybe a funeral." He said finally making eye contact with her.

She gulped. "I don't understand, I'm sorry," she said silently.

"Don't be," he chuckled. "nothing I say makes any sense anymore."

Her heart squeezed as she could feel the sadness of his aura he was giving off, she had never seen him in such a state, and she felt there was nothing she could do about it. She had a very bad feeling growing inside her.

She didn't know what to say. She stayed silent. What could she say? Was this feeling she had....true?
Was it really going to happen?

After a few minutes of silence, she made her way up to the man, grabbing a hold of both his hands, giving a soft, yet sad, smile.
He attempted to give one back to reassure her everything would be okay, but all broke loose as he felt himself start to cry. She squeezed his hands tighter in hopes to calm him. She'd never truly seen him cry before.

He rested his forehead on hers, trying to manage to speak. "It will get quite lonely with out you."

"Who said we won't end up in the same place my love?"

He looked up at her, his eyes wide.
He kissed her cheek, and then pulled her into a loving embrace.
"You're right, I love you," he said sadly, "You're such a wonderful woman, I'm so sorry I put you in all this danger."

"Why are you apologizing? We'll both end up in a placed of eternal happiness, we will finally be free from this cruel world. If anything I should be thanking you, so, thank you, L."

That next morning, they were both found dead in each other's arms.
