you stared at the dark blue black skies, the stars, and moon, scattered across it; still managing to shine. it was a sight unforgettable. today, the stars and sky seemed to be somewhat, brighter. something was different about it this time, it wasn't the same as the other nights. perhaps it was because who you were sharing this moment with.
you took your attention away from the scenery and towards them. the owl haired stood out, in the best ways possible. his smile still present as his eye glowed as the moon reflected from his eyes. to the side of him, was another. his ocean eyes completing his gorgeous look. instead, a soothing smile, small, but there.
akaashi and bokuto.
the question suddenly popped into your mind, ruining your peaceful mood. however you were desperate in asking this time. and so, you took in a breathe and let the words flow out of you.
"hey, what if one day i just randomly disappear from this world?"
they both quickly turned this gazes towards you, but by the looks on their faces, they were clearly thinking of two different things. akaashi had a concerned look on him and as for bokuto, had more of a questioning look. maybe he wasn't quite the best person to ask.
"what to you mean y/n? you'll stay with us forever and grow untill you're 130, like me," bokuto responded, that same look still on his face.
"bokuto! don't say that, be a bit more serious with this!" akaashi scolded him, now both of them getting the wrong ideas.
you quickly decided to take the lead in the conversation before they started bickering again.
"no, no! akaashi you're getting the wrong idea! and bokuto - it's a lot more complicated than that," you reassured them, their attention all onto you now.
you took another deep breathe in before continuing.
"i don't plan on dying, never. it's just a simple question and i just wonder how you guys would react," you said, now avoiding their gazes and faced towards the sky.
"and it's not like i wanna leave you guys either. i wanna stay here forever."
it was quiet for awhile maybe because they needed some time to think of an answer or maybe it wasn't the best time to ask. who knows, you can't read their minds.
"well, i know i'd definitely be sad. you're one of the best people i've met y/n, besides akaashi," answered bokuto, deciding to also take his gaze onto sky.
akaashi followed along, "the same goes for me too, y/n. you're a great person, and i love who you are inside and out. but i don't have much of a great answer because i don't really think of this type of stuff. i guess you could say i just kinda get lost in the moment when it comes to you."
quietness took over for awhile again.
"but y/n. if you ever need anything, you can always come to me or bokuto. we're here for you."
the tears were practically begging to pour out. every word hurt you so much. every emotion was there. sadness, guilt, anger, fear, happiness. you couldn't take it, your heart couldn't. you could feel your heart break and just shatter into million of pieces. your brain was a mess, everything just racing back and forth. you felt a tear pushing it's way out, dropping down your cheek as you bit your lip.
"then.. can you guys hold me for a bit?" you stuttered.
bokuto sled closer to you as akaashi got up on his knees to your other side. they both wrapped their arms around you, their head laying on each of your shoulders. their warmth swarmed you, as so did their care and love too. they love you.
"it's okay to cry, y/n."
you let go. you let the tears stream down your cheeks, you let your emotions
play on your faces. you let your sobs out. you let your breathing to get heavy. you pulled them together closely, as they listened to your cries. not once did they let you go.it's okay.
