It was dark and cold as the train halted to a stop. Nix could hear the whistling of the wind echoing outside the window. Their head resting against the icy glass. Silence was filled with the chiming from the speakers, signalling the opening of the doors. They let out a breathy sigh and stood up, the throbbing ache in their calves made it harder to stand but Nix ignored it. They yanked their suitcase out of the overhead compartment and rested it on its wheels beside them. They swung their black backpack onto their shoulder and lazily grabbed the handle of the suitcase. There was no going back home now. Nix's body froze with that thought. "No going home.." they thoughtlessly whispered. Suddenly a loud and intruding voice sounded through the speakers, "Passenger in car 4....please exit the train, mind the gap". Nix rolled their eyes and strolled over to the door, picking up their suitcase by the handle and walked over the gap. A whirl of ice cold air whipped them in the face, they set down the suitcase and wrapped their black hoodie around them tighter. Nix pulls up their hood and adjusts their leather jacket that is layered on top of the hoodie. They take a deep breath of cold, bitter air ,and step out into the pouring rain. The repetitive clacking of the wheels against the pavement lines is almost as antagonising as their ice cold clothes, soaking from the rain. Nix pulled out their phone rapidly. The screen lit up, water splattering onto it. They glanced down to look at the time. Suddenly Nix felt a rush of adrenaline as their foot slipped. A sharp pain shot through their head, a warm metallic tasting liquid pooled around their head. They heard an echo of a feminine sounding voice. "Oh my god are you alright?" A blurry silhouette came into view but faded as quickly as it came, as everything faded to black
