Yoongi and Jimin are best friends for six years. They met in the junior year of high school. Jimin had a small crush on Yoongi when they first knew each other. But he thought it would disappear as the time went on. But, oh boy, was he wrong.
With each passing day, his feelings turned to love. It was impossible to control his feelings when they spent their time together almost every day. No one knew about this except for him and Taehyung.
Back to present, they were celebrating Jungkook's birthday in the club with their friends group.
"Hey Jiminie. See this tiktok trend. It's called 'kissing my best friend trend'. You should totally try this with Yoongi-hyung." Taehyung chirped. Jimin looked at him like he had grown two heads. "What cheap drugs are you on? Do you know what you are talking about?" Jimin said. "C'mon, you like him, don't you?" Taehyung asked. "Yeah, but he doesn't like me." Jimin answered. "Like you know it." Taehyung fired back. "Of course I know. I'm his best friend. I can feel it that he doesn't like me in 'that' way." Jimin sighed. "As if." Taehyung scoffed. "Why don't you play this song in front of him and see his reaction?" Tae suggested.
And that's exactly what he is going to do tonight. Taehyung and he entered the club, people talking, some randomly dancing to the soft music playing in the background. He saw Yoongi and Hoseok sipping god knows what drink from their glasses. "Hey hyung." He waved at the older males. Hoseok waved back giving a soft smile. "Hi babe. You look pretty." Yoongi said smiling playfully. Jimin blushed madly at that.
An irritated Jimin ran towards Yoongi panting heavily and hid behind him. "Hyung, can you be my boyfriend?" Jimin asked out of the blue. Yoongi looked at him blankly before giving a 'are you freaking out of your mind?' stare. Jimin rolled his eyes and said "You just have to pretend to be my boyfriend." "And why would I do that?" Yoongi asked.
Jimin pointed towards a man who was looking for something- more like someone. "You see that man? He's been following me for weeks. I told him that I don't like him but he still follows me. If I told him that I have a boyfriend he'll leave me alone hopefully" He said. "Go find someone else." Yoongi said too bored to deal with this shit. "Hyung, please help me get rid of him-" He was cut off by a obnoxiously loud voice. "Jimin baby~ why did you run away?" Jimin just sighed in complete annoyance. "Happy Valentine's Day. Here, I made them by myself." The boy said offering a box of chocolates. Before Jimin could say anything Yoongi stood beside him pulling him closer by his waist. Jimin's breathe hitched at the sudden action. "No thanks. You can have them yourself. By the way, I'm Yoongi, Jimin's boyfriend and I hope you stay away from him. Let's go babe." He whispered the last word in Jimin's ears. A flustered Jimin followed the older leaving the boy confused.
Since then, he always called the younger with the pet name to tease him. Sure he knew Yoongi was just teasing him but he couldn't stop his heart from doing back flip somersault and thinking that maybe...maybe Yoongi liked him like that.
Jimin chuckled at the memories. "What's so funny?" Yoongi asked raising his eyebrows. "It's nothing. I just remembered a joke." He lied. The older shook his head at his best friend's absurdity. He motioned the younger to sit beside him.
A few minutes later, the moment he was waiting for came. He had requested the club dj to play the song.

Yoongi softly humming the song. "Hey isn't this the song where you kiss your best friend?" He curiously said and Jimin answered with a nod. "Imagine if we were to do this. That's would be so..... weird." He laughed not knowing how much his words hurt Jimin. "Yeah.." The younger chuckled awkwardly. He could feel his eyes brimming with tears. "I kinda feel suffocated. I'll go get some fresh air I guess." He said running out from there before Yoongi could say anything. While Yoongi looked at the younger's retrieving back.
