Ch.3

"Come on! you have to come out sooner or later. You cant possibly look that bad." Anthony drones on from the end of my bed, "but your definitely going to make us late if you don't hurry up, and we need to get there early!"

I cant believe I am actually going through with this. Anthony is so excited, he finally gets his moment he has been waiting for since middle school, the chance to see someone finally put Holly Springer in her place. The only problem is I cant decide whether to go with the innocent jeans and a polo look or the "yeah I can kick your ass and take your man if I want" look. Of course, when all else fails, you always go with the bad girl look, especially when it plays on the border of the school dress-code.

"Okay, okay I think I got it, but you cant laugh at me okay, you have to promise!" I yell from the inside of my enormous closet. of course after a second or two of the Cross my heart saying from second grade I finally step out and wait for a response.

"Damn girl! if i weren't gay I would so date you in public now." was all Anthony said as we headed down to the car, my fabulous new car, that I'm glad I already knew how to drive thanks to having to pick my dad up from his "movie premier after parties" I love driving standards now. they just feel so much more powerful than a normal automatic car.

"Well, here it goes, the moment of truth," I say looking at Anthony as we sit in the parking lot, "Wow, I haven't been this nervous since my first runway show."

"Don't worry, your gonna knock 'em dead out there, " he replies as he is getting out of the car, "just don't take too long, I'll be waiting by dream boys car, just in case I need to catch him okay" and he heads off towards Corbin's car.

Okay, I have to do this. there is no turning back now. Everyone is already staring at my car wondering if there is like a new Hollywood star at school or something. I can do this. I have to do this. Okay here goes nothing! Before I step out, I make sure I find where Anthony and Corbin are across the quad, so I have a set destination and wont look like an idiot searching around for them.

As i slowly open the door I instantly feel eyes on me. So I do what I do best, I raise my head high, and head directly towards my destination. Corbin stands there his eyes not believing what he is seeing. I watch his eyes as they slowly  lift from my black stiletto peek toes, up my perfectly tan thigh to my pleated short black mini, to my black halter that shows a little more than enough cleavage. Halfway there I knew I could do it. Then, almost as if on cue, there she is. That evil brunette barbie doll, standing next to my man. Well, he isn't my man, yet. he will be though in about one more minute.

"Is there something you need sweetheart?" I ask in the sweetest "talking to a dumb person" voice i could muster up. "I believe Ken is over there waiting for you."

"What do you think your doing?" she asks completely dumbfounded. "you really think everyone is going to believe that all this stuff is really yours, so, who did you manage to steal it from? or did you just go sell your body?"

"I think we should just let the lessons begin. Lesson one for you. Don't go for a man that is totally out of your league. Which would be any man when I'm around," and with the biggest fake smile I could manage, I grab Corbin by the hand and drag him away to class.

"You know, you could take a picture, it would last longer." I silently whisper to Corbin as we sit in homeroom waiting on Mrs. Powell to pick up our signed rules and consequences papers that my "parents" signed last night.

"Sorry, you just look so, so.... amazing," he stammers, "I just cant seem to figure out why you would want to hang out with someone like me, I mean I'm not anything special really, I'm just a regular guy staying with his Dying grandmother. Who you happen to know really well..."

"Corbin, Stop. Your like babbling. Its kind of cute, but really, stop." I couldn't help but sit there and giggle.

Then, of course, Holly walks in, goones in tow. She gives me the most evil glare I think I have ever seen, but I just tilt my head and smile, and give Corbin a peck on the cheek. That just seems to make it even worse, because she flips her hair and instantly sits down and pretends I don't exist for the entire period. Our next class was even better though, Anthony helped me think of other ideas, like maybe a party or something that would totally make her mad.

I lost Corbin after I stopped at the bathroom on the way to the cafeteria. I figured he just wanted to get a good spot in line. I go through the line and get my usual salad and cupcake, only now I don't know where to sit. Usually I would take my tray and go sit outside at a picknick table by myself, only that wont work with my new plan...or will it? I decided to test out how well its going, and go to my usual outside spot.

Well, this is something new, outside is suddenly the hot spot of the school. Everyone is out here. As soon as I sit down at my table Kenny comes striding over to my table. Kenny is the quarterback of the Football team, and Holly's on again off again boyfriend. Its funny he is coming to talk to me, he was never really bright, but that could be due to the link between football and brain cell loss. He did however in middle school come up with my horrible nickname everyone has called me ever since," deerbutt". I know, how intelligent right? he always said it was because I was so skinny, and timid, and acted like a child not even a mother could love, because of the orphan part. Well little does he know, "deerbutt" is about to get her sweet revenge.

"So, my friends and I are having a little bit of a complication over there," he says smoothly, pointing behind him, "but they seem to think you have gone to our school for a long time, but I told them they were dead wrong, because there is no way I would ever not remember a hot body such as yours."

"Well, maybe we should settle this little score you have going on over there." I replied just as I get up from my table and walk over to where his friends are standing.

"So, whats the stakes?" after I ask they just sit there staring at me like they don't know what I'm talking about.

"There is no stakes, we just wanted to know," ken offers for them

"Well, then that's no fun for me, i might as well just let you find out on your own," and I turn to head back to my table.

"Okay, okay. whoever is right gets to ask you to homecoming, there are you happy?" he surrenders

"Oh, well then, in that case. You, my friend," I stick my finger to his shoulder, "are totally wrong, apparently blind, and maybe a little brain dead, because I do believe the only name you've ever known me by is Deerbutt, and as for the rest of you," I point to the others, "none of you ever had a chance of going to homecoming with me. Except maybe you Dillon, but of course thats gone now." I finish and stalk back to my lunch table.

Apparently, I was a little loud in my confrontation, because I had quite the audience as I made my way back to where Anthony and the no longer MIA Corbin were waiting for me. Corbin just smiled and put his arm around my shoulder as he finished his meal. Anthony looked at me like a proud big brother would after a victorious catfight.

For once in my life, it actually felt good to be at school, all the girls watched me enviously everywhere I went. You could only imagine the what most of the guys were thinking as they watched me, and halfway undressed me with their eyes before I caught them staring. I sort of wish I hadn't waited until my Junior year in high school to "break out of my shell". This is only going to be the begining of a great step forward for me, that is until after my used to be worst class of the day, Gym
