On the 11th of September, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorist hijacked four planes, with plans to fly them into the twin towers, the pentagon and the white house. The first plane hit the North tower at 8:46am, the second hitting the southern tower at 9.03am. At 9:37am, hijackers flew another plane into the pentagon. Onboard flight United Airlines Flight 93, passengers fought off the hijackers enough to crash-land in Pennsylvania, saving many lives. Nobody on all four of the planes survived, and a total 2,996 people died.
