"Truth or dare!"

Mew shot Kavitra a disbelieving look. "I think we're a little too old for that sort of thing, Kavitra."

The bespectacled woman just disregarded his objections, insisting that it was going to be "entertaining" and "something to pass the time."

Never mind the fact that it could be a total disaster.

Mew sighed and finally gave in, not wanting to dishearten his friend after she went through the trouble of buying him a gift. Hopefully the woman wouldn't cross any kind of legal or moral lines.

"Alright, fine. Who else is playing?"

"Everyone! Well, except for Lam, he's a little preoccupied at the moment," Kavitra stated, crudely poking Lam's cheek, causing him to stir from his nap and slap her hand away before rolling over and going back to sleep. Fai, Cho, and Yihwa exchanged glances with each other. None of them particularly wanted to play, but they certainly didn't want to disappoint Mew on his birthday. No one protested Kavitra's statement that everyone but Lam would play along. Well, except for Gulf.

Gulf scoffed, leaning back against the door frame of the kitchen. "No. Absolutely not. I will not play this childish game with you."

Mew looked dejected. He hadn't really expected the doctor to join in, but it still stung a little that he'd been acting quite bored ever since the party began.

He's probably having an awful time. Way to go, Mew.

Gulf noticed the disappointed look on Mew's face and sighed. He hadn't expected the engineer to act like he'd just rained on his proverbial spectacle. He also hadn't been expecting Mew to actually agree to Kavitra's senseless idea. It was never a good idea to go along with one of her crazy schemes.

It was like he'd kicked a puppy, and although Gulf seemed like a cold, uncaring person, the truth was that he hated it when people were sad, especially the ones he cared for.

He sighed, yielding. "Fine, I'll bite. Just know that I won't do anything too preposterous."

Mew gave him a grateful glance. Kavitra clapped her hands together in satisfaction. "You go, Gulf, I knew you had it in you! Now, since it's Mew's birthday, he gets to go first. So Mew, choose someone!"

Mew glanced around the room, his gaze resting on Gulf for a moment. The raven haired man narrowed his eyes in a look that just screamed don't even think about it. So, Mew passed over him and settled on Fai, who was eating her fourth slice of cake. She was happily uninformed of the looming request.

"Okay, Fai, truth or dare?"

The surprise of being chosen made Fai nearly choke on the bite she had taken, coughing and spluttering violently. After a moment of recovering her composure she looked at Mew like a deer in the headlights. She'd never played these kind of games before and wasn't sure what to expect.

"Uh...umm..." she looked totally puzzled, and Mew almost felt bad for picking on her. She honestly did not know what to choose. After a few more seconds of the girl's confused mumbling, Kavitra made a suggestion.

"Just choose dare! No one likes it when people pick truth, it's boring," she stated matter of fact.

Fai hesitantly nodded. She certainly didn't want to be a bore. "Okay, dare."
