"I still can't believe you ended up with a Weasley," Nymphadora commented as she lounged on Ramona's bed. In front of her was a massive bowl of warm popcorn the sisters were sharing as Ramona packed for her trip to the burrow.
Ramona was right, the summer did fly by. With loads of homework and many backyard quidditch matches, she had plenty of things to occupy her mind. And yet, did Ramona often find herself sitting by the window waiting for a letter from George? Yes. At night, did Ramona reread his old letters and listen to songs that reminded her of him? Yes.
And did the fact that she was only a few minutes away from being back in his arms have her buzzing with excitement? Once again, yes.
"What do you mean?" the younger sister asked as she folded another shirt into her duffle bag.
Tonks popped another kernel in her mouth, "Don't get me wrong, I love the Weasley's as much as the next blood traitor, but our families are quite the opposite aren't they?"
"I don't think so, George and I have plenty in common,"
"Really? What?"
Ramona stared at her sister, her head tilted in thought. It took a few moments for her to hesitantly spit out, "...quidditch?"
"Everybody likes quidditch, Mona. It's like the only sport we have,"
"Whatever," Ramona huffed, zipping up her duffle, "So what if we don't have a lot in common? We're compatible. And he makes me happy. And-"
"Ramona, hey-" interrupted Tonks as she grabbed her sister's shoulder, "I'm just teasing, alright? I'm glad you found someone who makes you happy. You deserve it,"
Ramona squeezed Tonks' hand, "Thanks, Dora. Are you any closer to finding someone?"
Tonks threw back her head in roaring laughter, "If anything I'm farther away. I'm so busy with work that the only people I meet are criminals. Don't think mum would like it very much if I brought one of them home for supper,"
Ramona reached for a handful of popcorn, "You know, you could always get back together with your Weasley,"
Tonks choked on her popcorn, "Who? Charlie? Merlin, Mona how many times do I have to tell you? We never dated,"
"And who's fault is that?" Ramona muttered, to which her older sister replied by throwing a handful of popcorn at her.
"Charlie is one of my closest friends. That's all," Tonks said with an air of finality.
Ramona rolled her eyes as she picked popcorn kernels out of her hair, "Okie dokie,"
"Oh shoot," Tonks said, checking her watch, "You're gonna be late!"
"Shit," Ramona spat as she quickly gathered up the rest of her belongings.
The sisters ran towards the living room, where Andromeda and Ted were waiting for them by the fireplace.
"Got everything you need?" asked Ted.
Ramona patted her stuffed duffle bag, "Yup. Everything,"
"Including your wand?" Andromeda sternly added.
Ramona fished the ebony wand out of her bag, holding it up for her parents to see, "I don't understand why you want me to bring it. It's not like I can use it during the summer anyway,"
"Because," Andromeda explained as she straightened up Ramona's jean jacket, "I need to know you'll be able to protect yourself if something bad happens,"
