Mr. Runny Nose and Ms. Pig tails

“There he is! My son, ACP Aditya Rawat.” She heard Suresh say and welcomed in.

Clearly understanding the little prank he played on her.

She turned back and looked at her father.

Meanwhile Aditya took a seat beside his father after greeting Vaishali’s parents.

Her father raised an eyebrow at her.

She motioned Aditya to him through her eyes and he burst out laughing in front of everyone making her want the mother earth to swallow her.

“ What happened? Why are you laughing suddenly?” Suresh asked him.

“ Looks like Aditya pranked her this time.” He said and continued to laugh at his daughter’s misery. She pouted and looked at her mother.

Her father explained everything and everyone started laughing while she glared at him and rolled her eyes when he smirked.

Aditya grinned like a fool looking at her annoyance. It is so fun to watch her boil like an egg!

“ Hey, you shouldn’t have scared her like that Adi!” his mother chided.

“ It’s okay Raagini. My daughter needs some of that too! How much she used to play him when they were younger! It’s okay Adi, to have some revenge!” Her mother said and she narrowed her eyes at her.

Perfect family she have! No one is supporting her!

“ If you guys laughed enough I would like my license coming back to me.” Vaishali gritted.

“Vaishu. Don’t be rude.” Her mother warned her and Raagini interrupted.

“Give her license back. You want her to kick you now or what? Look at how red she is!” Ragini said laughing.

He got up and took his purse from his pocket. He opened it and took her license card out. 

He smiled mischievously before giving her the card. She didn’t get what is happening.

She took the card and checked it.

“ I didn’t do anything to it!” He said.

“And! I am sorry.” He said and she just nodded her head.

They all again sat after the little drama their kids put in.

Vaishali started talking to the little kids and Aditya sat there admiring her.

Her mother cleared her throat and she looked at her. “You want water?” she asked and her mother just sighed.

“Why don’t you kids go to your room and chat?” she said and she nodded.

“lets leave kiddos” Vaishali said as she got up with them.

Her mother slapped her forehead and hissed. “ I am not talking about them but you and Aditya!” she said and she looked protesting but nevertheless one glare is all it took for her to shut up and let him follow her.

She opened the door to her room and entered inside and he followed her.

“  I am sorry.” He said softly as she sat on her bed and he leaned against the wall in front of her.

“ I thought you will recognize me at least by my name! I didn’t knew-”

“Damn! It’s okay. Stop remembering me about my dumbness. And it is not my fault! Even my father would not have recognized you! Look at you! You are not that ten year old always nose run guy anymore.”

“and you are not that pigtails hairstyle girl.” He said smiling which made her smile too and he breathed in relief. At least she is not angry anymore.

“ You already know that you will come here with your family today and teased me on the first day right?” she said and he nodded with a sheepish smile making her shake her head sideways.

“They are planning to set us up.” She said softly and he nodded.

“ Why are you just nodding? Do you want them to-“

“ Yes! I want us to be together, get married, have kids, grow old and want feel all those cliché things they write in books with you.” He mumbled.

“ I was the one who proposed coming here…” he said when he saw her look at him.

“ I had a bad past, I was love failure by the end of my college time. I was completely getting recovered from the damage of my past, I was almost done. But again I got engaged to this guy, who seemed perfect to me. He is a doctor by profession. Just before few months of marriage he called off saying he can’t handle a working wife. They first wanted me to stay at home and look after but… When I clearly said I want to continue my passion they called off!

“ So many rumors spread about me that due to my past relationship only my marriage got cancelled.” She said softly.

“But, they are rumors for a reason right? Who won’t have relationships nowadays? Come on! I had few too. Even if I wouldn’t have it’s completely alright to be in a relationship with someone. When we get into a relationship and think it’s serious obviously we dream of getting married irrespective of gender.” He said.

“ I want us to work out. Why not go on few dates with me? If you like me, we will get married. If you don’t, then we will part ways.” He said softly and she looked at him, already a soft place forming in her heart.

“ I like the idea Mr. Runny nose” she said giggling.

“ Started again Ms. Pigtails?” he teased her making her giggle.

   As they laughed reminding their old days, the sound if it reached downstairs to the elders ears. Then they just know that their imperfect kids are now perfect for each other to fill in their holes of loneliness and love.
