Chapter 1

"Rrrrrrrriinnnggg".. That's the sound of my annoying alarm clock. It signals me to wake up, but this morning it signaled something more than that. Today was my first day at Calabasas High, and I'm In 11th grade. It's going to be a rough day, I have no friends, I have nobody to talk to, and I'll know NOBODY. A few months ago, My mom, dog, and I moved here (California) from Arizona. We had to move because my mom had gotten a really good job offer here and she didn't want to miss out on such a wonderful opportunity. I honestly did not want to leave Arizona. My whole life was there and even my future. All my friends.. Just everything. I knew I couldn't be selfish because my mom was my everything.. And all I wanted for her was to be happy, and she is. That's all that really matters now.

"Ari, love.. Get up its your first day. Come on you don't wanna be late." Said my mom from outside my bedroom door. 

"Okay mom, I'm getting up" she was the sweetest person I knew. So, I got up and took a shower, brushed my teeth and got dressed. My outfit for today was a black shirt with the words "Love Pink" printed on the front in a hot pink. I Wore hot pink skinny jeans and black Vans. I lightly curled my hair and wore a cute hot pink bow. I added a touch of blush, mascara, and lightly applied black eyeliner. I Ran downstairs and modeled for my mom.

"Aww, look at my beautiful baby girl. Ari, you look amazing." Said my mom.

"Thanks mom," I ran up to her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. She has always been there for me and now, I'm trying to be there for her, with the new job offer she got. "Well mom, I guess I have to get going."

"Okay Hun, have a great first day. Love you"

"Love you too mom" I gave her a hug and left. I got into my BMW, the car I asked for my 16th birthday, and drive off. While driving I remember that I forgot to eat some breakfast. I drive into the parking lot of a Starbucks to get some food. I walked in and went straight to the register, and stared at the menu for a while.

"Welcome to Starbucks, may I take your order. " said the cashier.

"Um, can I have a cup of coffee along with the ham and cheddar artisan breakfast sandwich." I replied.

I pay for my order and then go and take a seat at a table. As I'm eating my food I look up and notice a guy staring at me. I hurry up and finish my food and walk out of there. As I'm driving, I wonder why that guy was staring at me and who he was. I finally arrive to school and pick up my class schedule.

"Student: Ariana Sanchez  

•Period 1: Calculus Room 5-152 

•Period 2: History Room 3-102 

•Pelriod 3: Chemistry Lab 6a-12 

•Period 4: English III Room 1-201 

•Period 5: Gym Gymnasium  

•Period 6: N/A ----------------------- 

•Period 7: N/A -----------------------"

Cool, I Don't Have Any Classes For 6th and 7th period. That means I get to leave school early. Yes! The Benefits Of doing good in school. I Thank the secretary, and then leave to go find my first class. There's maps all over the school so I go to one to help me out. While standing there.. I feel someone tapping my shoulder. I turn around to see who it was. It was the guy from Starbucks. "Hi" I say. I stood there and evaluated his presence for a good 2 minutes. Tall, light skinned, flirty (I could tell with the way he was staring at me) He had a mole on his left cheek and looked quite familiar. He wore Clothes That said MSFTS.. He even had a bag that said MSFTS.

"Hey, I Came over here because I could see that you needed help. Said the guy. "I saw you at Starbucks this morning."

"Yeah, you were that creep that stood there and watched me eat." I replied.

"Haha, Yeah, I had to stare. You're just so beautiful. I'm Jaden.

"I'm Ariana. I've seen you before. Other than at Starbucks. Jaden.... Jaden.... You look real familiar."

"Haha, I'm Jaden.. As In Jaden Smith."

"Ohh... Wow. Nice to meet you. Well I got to get to my first period" and I tried my hardest to get away real quick, but then he grabbed my arm.

"Let me help, What do you have first period?" He said

I tried my hardest to avoid eye contact. He's a celebrity and I was not. Why was he talking to me. I knew that I would to something or say something weird that would make him never talk to me again. So, I stared at my class schedule. "Umm.... Calculus in Room 5-152."

"Wow, I have that same class. Can I see this please." He asked and I gave him my schedule. "Guess we're going to be classmates, for all five periods" he said with a smile on his face. We stood there and stared at each other for a long time. Then the first period bell rang. "May I Have The Honor Of Taking You To First Period" he asked.

"Haha, of course." I replied. We walked into our first period class, and Jaden sat right next to me. The seats were set into 5 columns. Column 1 being near the door and Column 5 being near the teachers desk. I sat in column 2, last seat and Jaden sat in the column to my right. Right next to me too. We took our seats and then the tardy bell rang.

"Hello Class, my name is Mr.Jacobson and I will be teaching you all the subject of Calculus. But you can call me Mr.J" said the teacher. "I will be taking attendance, So When I call your name say 'Present'. Steve......." and he continued down the list. Jaden passed me a note.  

It Read: 

"Ariana, you are just so perfect and I am so glad that..."  

While reading the note I was interrupted by footsteps and angry breathing.

"Well.. Well.... You must be Ariana Sanchez. I've Been calling your name. I could have marked you absent, but I didn't. What makes the note in your hands so important. Please do care to share what it contains. We all love a good story. 

At this point About 50 heads turned to stare at me. I looked over at Jaden and he had that 'I'm Sorry' look on his face. Mr.J snatched the note away from me and read it to himself. While reading it he chuckled. He was a big-bellied man.., with black hair that contained speckles of gray. He was tall yet plump and breathed heavily. 

"Well Ariana, seems that you will be starting the school year off roughly. Stop passing love notes and pay attention." and with that he wobled back to the front of the classroom and continued with the attendance. The day went by so slowly and it was finally time to go home. I was so close to getting into my car when i heard a familiar voice yell my name. 

"Ariana, don't leave yet." It was Jaden. Why wouldn't he leave me alone. "I just want to apologize for being the reason as to why your first day at Calabasas High wasn't the best."

"Jaden, it's fine. It wasn't going to perfect"

"But I am really sorry." He looked at me with a puppy-dog face, and I forgave him. "May I have your number please?"

What else should I have said, he apologized to me, and he seemed like he was trying his hardest. "Umm... Sure" we exchanged phones and programmed our numbers in each others phone. 

"Thanks, see you tomorrow?" he asked.

"Yeah.."

He smiled.. and I jumped in my car and left. He was just so sweet. He was on my mind the whole car ride. How can you have feelings for someone you just met?
