We drove up to a small blue house. On the outside it looked used. Most of the paint was chipping off, the lawn was in desperate need of water, and a window had a noticeable crack in it.

I've saw the house before, when my uncle sent my mom pictures of the house. In the pictures the walls were covered in childish drawings, like a normal family grew up here. According to the realtor, a family of four lived there. They both had boys, and when they grew up, they both went to the military. They grew old in the house until they were moved into a home for the elderly.

"Lovely house isn't it?" My uncle said sarcastically.

We entered and I immediately started searching for the biggest room available. I drop my stuff on the bottom of the stairs and enter a room with a used mattress in it.

"I call this room!" I shout.

I run back down stairs and grab my stuff. It wasn't much, just some clothing and journals over the years.

Satisfied, I plop down on the mattress and start taking my stuff out.

"Lilah, you can unpack later. Your uncle brought some stuff to eat." My mother shouts.

"One, two, three!"

As my mother and uncle lift the mattress I put my new one down.

I take my phone out and text Drew

Me: Just moved in, it's so ugly in here.

Drew: I'll have to come over sometime.

Me: How's the school? Do you think I'll like it?

Drew: Yeah, most of the people here like the new kids. Just tell them you have a Vine and they'll automatically respect you!!

I roll my eyes, grinning.

Me: I'll be sure to mention it. I have to go.

I put my phone to charge. I lay down and drift off to sleep.
