I was sitting in an typical uncomfortable chair of the hospital , the smell as always is intense , the nurses and doctors walking and the patients waiting to be attend , I happen to be there waiting . Waiting to know if my mother was alive , if there was chance of her surviving and I wasn't going to lose the last person I had of family . So, I patiently waited of notices about my mother who currently was in the operation room . She would freak out If she knew she was in there , hospitals happen to be her biggest fear . I wonder how she felt when she gave birth to me and to my half twin sisters, Britney and Grace , who now were dead . They didn't have the same luck as my mother and their deaths were immediately .

I looked at the clock on the wall in front of me , when we arrived at 15:00 and now it was 18:00 . By this time Mark ,my step father ,should be already here but no sign of him , his work usually doesn't hold him back too long . But I mentally thanked he wasn't here yet , I could at least enjoy the peace and think .

I have been already interrogated by the police , which was quick since it wasn't nothing important for them , as long as this wasn't some type of homicide . Then they left and a nurse came to me to verify if I was okay . I had some deep cuts all over the body and my head was still hurting , they said it was normal but thankfully nothing serious had happen .

Through the time I sat in the waiting room I started to realise why my mom hate it . The crying's of the children and their mothers who didn't do anything . The receptionist who preferred to smoke and talk about her cousin who slept with her husband than do her actual job .

Some older women probably in their sixty were "whispering" to each other as they looked with their judging looks to younger one , probably eighteen like me .The girl was sitting in the department of pregnancy analyses, probably to check if she was pregnant or not .Poor girl I thought .

Unfortunately, this hospital was the only one in town. For a better service you needed to go to another town ,which wasn't very close .

I heard the noise of a door opening and looked to see who it was , and to my displeasure the figure of my stepfather appeared . I mentally slapped my forehead just by seeing the state he was , as he was walking, he stumble into a woman shoes and almost fell . I got up and went to him , all this time embarred by his behaviour . As soon as I approached him a strong smell of alcohol hit me .

- Why are you drunk ?

His eyes were searching for something and finally he turned them to me , I fell disguised by seeing them .One of his hands cupped my elbow too hard to the point were it hurt .

- Where are they ?

- I asked you a question first , why are in this state ?

His look turned to anger .

- It's not your damm business .

I couldn't believe at this situation , but I wasn't surprised . I lived on the first floor which was near the kitchen where my mom would sit and wait for Mark to get home , sometimes it could be at one in the morning but only if it was the end of the weekend . Of course he would be drunk and my mom would always get angry because of that .

- It's not but al least you could have some decency , it's a hospital not a circus .

- Where is she ? Where are my daughters ?

The police notified him about the accident but I guess they didn't specified what happened . I jerked my arm from his grip and distanced myself from him , with a little fear of his reaction . I know who he will blame. He has right to .
