You open your eyes, your throat demands some water so you conjure water out of thin air and drunk at it. It tastes muddy, probably because of the dust your house has accumulated. But beggars can't be choosers.

'It is cold.' You thought to yourself. Your eyes cannot see anything, darkness reigned over the place as you cough from the dust. You enchanted your eyes to see your surroundings and found out that your house was entrapped in dirt and stone.

You waved your hand, and the earth began to move as if answering your command to make way, the earth beneath your house started pushing it upwards. And not even a minute has passed and you have already seen the light.

After adjusting your eyes, you looked out your window to see a beautiful and lush forest below you

After adjusting your eyes, you looked out your window to see a beautiful and lush forest below you. And it was... Breathtaking.

'Looks like I'm on a hill.' You said to yourself, a pleasant surprise. As a wizard, it is only correct to favor elevated grounds because of the positives they can give to you. But for you, it is not all about its practicality, you simply like the view and the refreshing feeling that it gives. It makes you appreciate the world that the Two have created despite their differences. This beauty speaks volumes of how worth it this world is dying for.

Speaking of dying, you looked in your mirror and said.

"You're dead, right?" You questioned to yourself as if expecting an answer. Considering that your last memory before waking up is you sleeping and embracing death, you're pretty calm.

Too calm in fact that you weren't surprised that your once old and wrinkled face is now beaming with youth along with your whole body. The energy from your days of prime is back and begs for the mind to let it loose and be free.

'Some sort of terrifying magic must have taken place near my house.' You said to yourself.

Magic that messes with the balance of life is considered to be taboo by the gods. Those who indulge in forbidden magic by lengthening one's life are immediately to be executed for heresy, as ordered by the church and its loyal disciples.

You change clothes and walk out of your house, it's too dusty and you can't be bothered to clean it now, nor do you have any spell that removes dust from a bed sheet. As you walked outside, you felt energized as the cold wind embraced your body while inhaling the fresh air.

But enough of that, Y/N. It would be best if you started pondering some things.

How are you still alive? You don't know, the sickness was supposed to be incurable by human magic, the gods themselves said so.

How long were you asleep? There have been scholarly studies of how rocks can move given enough time. But that will take what? Thousands of years? Millions of years? It's also possible that someone buried the whole house.

Did the gods break their vow? But that's impossible, they are the very personification of order. Unless there is a very, VERY special event that could potentially alter how the whole world works, the two gods would rather die. And they can't die, they're immortal beings of unmeasurable power, so they can't die...

Right?

You remember Ozma's wife and her foolish plan of defying the gods. Kingdoms allying with each other like pathetic rats dreaming of tearing down the walls of an impregnable castle. Back then you'd laugh every time the thought came to your mind.

'Did she win?' You asked yourself but quickly dismissed it. What harm could a mortal do to the beings that created her?

You erased such thoughts and decided to list down your priorities and options.

The very first is to secure food. Drinking water is easily obtainable through magic, but food is a different story. You cannot create life through magic, life needs a soul to function. Nor can you create flesh out of it, it's too dangerous. You shuddered at the thought of what kind of abomination you could create if you did.

Second, information. The land around your house has changed quite a lot. You used to live in a much smaller hill than this, and the surrounding used to be a meadow that stretched as far as the eyes could see. Quite some time should have passed while you were gone. You recall of an old town, south of here. It would be best to start here.

Lastly was mana. The very energy that every life needs to survive. The world used to be abundant with such, now it's very faint. Much less than back then. Obviously, as the best mage in your time, you are gifted with the ability to store large amounts of mana within your body, however, if you were to use mana it must only be when you require it. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

You once again looked at the horizon and felt, excited?

You wouldn't call yourself an adventurer, but being curious of the unknown is a basic human desire. And now this circumstance has presented you a chance to satiate that ancient hunger.
