Walking down the tiny aisle, you look at the newly packed goods in astonishment.
"Nice work, (Y/n)! The apples look amazing!"
Kaito, one of 2 employees yell from afar."Thanks!"
You had opened a small market a few years ago with you're husband. Well, ex husband now.
The only con about the shop was that your market was outside. Which meant bugs. Everywhere. In the summertime, it got so bad you had to cover up the food with plastic wrapping.
The store specifically specialized in fruits and veggies, much to your delight. Your parents had been great farmers, teaching you and you're siblings everything you needed to know about gardening.
"You guys can start heading home now, I'll pack everything up."
"Goodnight, (Y/n). Take care."
"Yeah, and if you need any help, don't be scared to give us a call."
Aiko and Kaito say their farewells as you laugh to yourself.
"You guys act like I'm an old lady or something,"
"Gotta do what you gotta do for a good paycheck," Kaito jokes.
"Alright, alright. You can leave now." You say, slightly displeased.
You start packing up the goods, ready to close before you spot one of your regulars approaching.
"Hey, sorry are you closing?"
"What can I get for ya?" You completely ignore his question, trying not to show your annoyance.
"I'm guessing that's a yes," He says while letting out a small laugh.
"Do you have any peaches left? I know this isn't their season but we've been craving them back at home, my mom will definitely kick my ass if I come home empty handed,"
You let out a chuckle, unsure if he was joking or not.
"It's a good thing you checked in. This is my last batch for the year,"
You lend him the basket to pick out his selective peaches.
'He seems like such a chill guy! Totally my type,' You think quietly to yourself.
'What if he's married? But wait, he wouldn't be living with his parents if he were though... Or at least I hope not,'
Your thoughts are soon interrupted by ringing."Hello?"
You immediately hear a loud booming voice through the tiny phone.
"Did she have any left?"
"Yup, I'm getting them right now."
"That's great! See, this is why I love her! She's got the best fruits in town! You should shoot your shot while you still have the chance bud,"
You quickly turn his way as he looks down at the phone in embarrassment.
"That's enough outta you. I'll speak to you at home," He hangs up and shoves his phone in his pocket.
"Sorry about that, I'll take these 4."
