I woke up the next morning feeling all drained out and tired of crying all night.

Sorrow lurking around me.

I called my best friend Trevor over to the hotel to discuss about getting a job and an apartment.

"What do you mean he broke up with you" Trevor asked the minute I finished briefing him.

"Yes he did, he didn't tell me to my face but left a letter with our landlord" I answered remembering that painful day.

I really did love Roman in everything in me, he was my first and only love and it still hard to get over the fact that he left me. I have tried to think of things that I had done that may have made him leave but I couldn't think of any.
We had a loving relationship and I thought it was gonna be that way forever and wasn't expecting this outcome. It really still feels like a dream.

"Does your parents know"

" Nope, I haven't told them or spoke to them for a while now but am planning to tell them soon". I had actually made up my mind to let my family know despite knowing how upset and disappointed they were gonna be. I had been lying to them about college for a long time and I think it's time they knew the truth.

Trevor looked like he had lots of questions to ask me about Roman but seeing as I looked like I wasn't ready to talk, he gave up the idea.

"So what next now" Trevor questioned looking straight at me.

"Am just trying to find a job and a new apartment, I can't live in this hotel forever"

"" Why don't you stay with me, I mean I do live alone in my two-bedroom home anyway"

"Nah, I will pass, I appreciate the idea but I just wanna be alone for a while".

"Come on, you could stay in the other room and I promise that I won't bother you" Trevor said raising his hands in a promise way which actually made me smile a little. But I had made up my mind and I wasn't about to change it.

"Trevor, am not changing my mind" I said as I left no room for no more discussion. I actually loved him and was thankful to him but after what I just went through, I really just wanted to be alone.

"Fine you win" he sighed giving up already. "First— let's talk about the job. There is actually a company that is hiring right now".

" A company, Trevor, I was a waiter at my previous job so what makes you think I have the skills needed to work in a company" I replied him a little but while yelling.

I knew I was the one who asked him to get assist me in getting a job, but I thought he was gonna go for a restaurant or someplace else, not a company.

" I know, I know, but it's not that big of a deal, the CEO of the company just needs an assistant and nothing more"

"An assistant" I asked

"Yeah, just someone to get his files ready, make him coffee, run his errands, always with him during business meetings and also input files in a computer which am sure you can do"

"We-l-l-l " I dragged actually thinking about it, I mean such tasks were pretty easy for me but I was still doubtful about working in a company.

"Would you first try and see if you could get the job before contemplating" he said looking at me amusedly. He must have pretty found it funny that I was thinking about the offer instead of being happy and joyful.

"Alright alright, I will give it a try. Are you gonna go with me" I pleaded despite knowing his answer.

"Sorry pal, I got work to do but I promise to send you the company location later tonight but the rest is all on you" he patted my shoulder and continued watching his movie he put on before our conversation.

I sighed and closed my eyes while resting on the couch.
I had a big day tomorrow.

My phone alarm ringed which indicated that it was time for me to get up. The interview starts at 7:15 and it was now 6:00 am which meant I had an hour and 15mins to get ready.

I yawned, stretched, slept a little for those 15mins before getting up to get dressed.

After brushing my teeth, taking a bath, and had a light breakfast, I put on a dark blue shirt with black pants and my 2nd favorite Adidas blue shoes.
While dressing up, my mind drifted back to when I still lived with Roman. Every morning, he usually ironed my clothes, got my shoes ready, styled my hair and made me breakfast.

It just all still feels like a dream and I knew it was gonna take time to get over him.

I combed through my hair and didn't even bother to style it, I was going for a job not looking for a partner. Though I did look good with my outfit and hair.

I put on my wristwatch, grabbed a file, locked the hotel room door and walked outside.

The previous night, Trevor had sent me the company location and it turned out that I actually knew where it was.
Roman and I usually pass in front of the company always gawking and looking at how big and beautiful it was. We would usually spend a whole amount of time just looking at the flowers that littered the place.

After a 10mins bus drive, I finally arrived in front of the building.
The company was really one in sight. It was a huge and fancy building, different kinds of flowers littered around the building and the place was covered with glass.

The walls were painted with black and grey which gave it those office vibes.....

There were lots of people rushing in and they all seemed in a hurry cause they pushed those in front of them.

The men were all dressed nicely in suits and shoes and the women all had skirts and shirts on with their hair falling off their shoulders, some had heavy make-up on while some wore light make-up.

They were all dressed nicely and neat in suits, ties and pants and I wondered if I actually stood a chance. I hated suits which made me have none. I usually love wearing pants with a t-shirt paired with a sneaker or canvas.

I was just about to turn around and leave when my phone indicated that I had a message. It was from Trevor and it had the words "GOOD LUCK" on it. I stared at the words for a whole good minute before making my mind to actually just go for it.

Security guards stood at both entrance of the building directing and helping people to get in.

I walked to the front desk where I saw a lady typing something on a computer.
She was well dressed with office pants and shirts, black shoes and hair falling off her shoulders as well. She also looked beautiful with the light make-up she had on.

"Excuse me, what floor is the job interview going on" I asked politely while clutching my high school diploma that I brought with me. I had actually had good grades all though my school years with A's and B's, so I think and know that people would be surprised to find out I hadn't gone to college. But OH well.

"Take the elevator to floor 36, and that's where the interview is being held. There are lots of interviewees on that floor, just take a seat and your name would be called". She explained while entering my name in the computer.

"Thank you" I said as I made my way to the elevator. I checked my watched and was that I had 5mins left.

After getting in the elevator and hitting the button, I rested my head on the wall and breathed in.

It sure looks like it was gonna be a long long day.
