So after a long night, we all fell asleep on the bus. I've never been one to sleep in crazy, so I was wide awake by like 7:30am. To my surprise when I woke up Dylan was on my shoulder. I was kinda tempted to shift her to her original position with her head on the window but that couldn't have been very comfortable. So I let her be. She was so peaceful when she slept. Didn't seem as angry or standoffish. Last night, I had asked to read her. I put all of what I could actually get from her into what I said, but if I'm being honest, I couldn't tell if she was lgbt at all. I was merely hoping she was. From the moment our paths crossed, I knew she was gonna be a big part of my life, of all our lives. I turned out to be right. Once me and Astley invited her over she fit right in. She joked with us, and had no hesitation to call you out. Ive probably been awake for 45ish minutes when she woke up in a panic, realizing she was asleep on me.
"Goodmorning Sleeping Beauty," I joked.
"I-I am so s-sorry," She stuttered.
"It's all g-g-good," I mocked, "I'm probably more comfortable than the window anyways." She let out a sigh and smirked.
"What do you say we don't tell the rest of them?" She bargained.
"If that's what you'd like," I agreed. She peaked behind us to see if any of them were awake, her sleepy eyes widened. Kris was.
"Don't worry I ain't gonna say nothing," He assured.
"Your awesome," Dylan let out a tired sigh, "so what's the deal with them, aren't they a couple?" She was talking about Rafe and Astley.
"Do you want the long story or short story?" Kris asked.
"Short"
"Long," I added. What can I say I've been curious.
"Short story, she's in love and he's oblivious. Long story, they dated in the 9th grade for a while but broke up when Rafe's grades started slipping. It's all he really cared about. He was always the one that wanted to get into an IV League school, and when he realized that she was in the way, he dumped her. Left her heartbroken. That was 4ish years ago and she's still in love. I'm in a weird position because they both still talk to me about each other but make me promise not to say anything to the other," He explained before Dylan interrupted.
"What does Rafe talk to you about if he doesn't want to be with her?"
"He does, but he's scared he's going to hurt her again. We were all in a friend group even then, so when he broke up with her he got to see how much it effed her up. She liked him more than words can say, and he crushed her. So even I was mad at him. She's been our best friend since pre-k and I hate when anybody makes her upset, and it hurt when it was him. So long story short, as of right now she'd give anything to be with him, and he's scared to hurt anyone," Kris finished.
"That's pathetic," Dylan followed.
"I'm sorry what?!" Kris doubled back. Im just sitting here enjoying the drama.
"It's pathetic. If she likes him that much then she should woman up and tell him. And then the fact that he is to scared to hurt anyone, that's super pathetic. There will always be that possiblity that your gonna hurt someone, but if he generally liked her, he would do everything in his power to not let anything hurt her," She ranted. It was kind of cute, how she put everything else aside to get her point across. She wasn't worried about whether or not they would wake up. She's such a wild card, you never know what you'll get with her.
"So if they aren't gonna do anything why don't we do something," I suggested.
"Hm?" Kris turned in intrigment.
"How so?" Dylan switched her gaze from him to me.
"We have a 2 day layover in Dallas Texas right? So let's separate them, Rafe go with Kris and me and Dylan go with Astley. We both talk to them and explain the cercumstances. If it is how you say it is, then they should realize that they CAN be together. We all know that Rafe is going to say something like but what if I hurt her again, so Kris, that's when you tell him what Dylan just said. There will always be a chance you're going to hurt someone, so take a chance," I skeemed.
"That's not a half bad plan shorty," Kris teased, "I'm impressed."
Dylan's phones kept buzzing, no not buzzing, beeping.
"Uhm you gonna get that?" I suggested.
"I'm ok," She denied with hesitation and fear in her eyes.
"Do you want me to?" I offered.
"Y-Yes please," She stuttered and handed me her phone with a shaky grip.

[Type message here ]I tried to keep it simple. It's clear she doesn't want him knowing where she is. Or who she's with. But my biggest curiosity is why she left. What happened that pushed her to want to leave? Why doesn't she want to be found? But y'know what, curiosity killed the cat.
But satisfaction may bring it back.
