She had gone, never to be seen again. She had gotten on the 6 am flight to Washington leaving Jack heartbroken that she was jetting off to start a new life with her future husband and Jack's unborn child who would be raised as Matt's probably completely unaware of their biological father.
Nikki had just turned twelve weeks pregnant when she handed in her notice. She had already accepted a position as part of the CSI squad in Washington, Jack couldn't get over her life decisions to take his child all the way to America but Jack knew he didn't get much of a say.

As soon as Matt found out his fiancee was carrying another man's child he decided to take up the role of the doting father knowing it may only be their own and only chance of having a child. Matt also knew it was Jack's child and took great joy in watching the Irishman squirm every time he was around Jack and would embrace Nikki from behind and stroke her bump.

But she was gone, never to be seen again and in a few month's time she would have a child of her own to look after; Jack's child but that didn't matter to Matt anymore. Jack wouldn't get to see his son or daughter, he may see the odd photo of them but that was it.

A couple of months later, Jack had slightly moved on from Nikki he loved her beyond compare but he couldn't have her so decided that he would try and get out on the market once again in a bid to forget the blonde who quite literally plagued his dreams.
He steps into his flat after a long day at work walking through his open-plan apartment he places two plastic bags down on the kitchen table and then pulls out a few boxes holding his takeaway dinner and then from the other bag a few bottles of beer.

He quickly heads through to the bathroom and has a quick shower before changing into pyjamas and tucking into his dinner in front of the television. He was due a friend round in the next hour to watch the football match with.

Halfway through his lunch the apartment buzzer goes off and Jack walks over to the intercom and picks it up, "Ay Jamie come on up to the Batchelor shag pad, I hope you have the beers from the game," He speaks and presses the button to let them in without seeing who it was as his only due visitor was Jamie.

Walking away from the intercome he heads over to the television and changes it over to the channel the football is being broadcasted on. He found it odd when he heard a knock at the door as Jamie knew just to walk in, turning around he quickly swigs some of his beer before walking over to the front door and opening it, "Jamie for the millionth time..." He cuts himself short.

His jaw drops and his mouth falls open, before him stood the one person he never thought he would see again "What?..." he stutters.
"Nice to see you too Jack," the woman before him smiles.
"Nikki?" He manages to get out slowly.

He closes his eyes for a moment before reopening them to see her still stood in front of him, he for sure wasn't dreaming anymore, his eyes then drift down to the baby car seat resting on her forearm. His heart pounds in his chest as he can't take his eyes off the small bundle almost hidden in the car seat, of course, it was winter Jack thought and that would be the reason for the blankets hiding the small bundle.

"So are you going to let us in? it's freezing out, we're due snow," She smiles as she shivers slightly.

Jack steps out the way and nods as he allows Nikki into his flat, she slowly makes her way over to the sofa as Jack shuts the front door and turns around standing there for a moment he takes in the blonde who is messing with the baby in the car seat. Jack now questioned if he was hit by a car on the way home from work earlier and is now in a coma fighting for his life.

He slowly walks over the room and stops just beside the armchair as he watches Nikki scoop the baby from the car seat he now had so many questions. She turns around with the baby in her arms and walks over to Jack, "This is your Daddy," she coos.
