Journal of Yang Jungwon

Friday, September 27, 1887 at 8:33 PM– I am still in the mansion, but safe for now. I got up and slowly staggered to a window. I did not realize how weak my legs were, since I had been sitting on the ground ever since I wound up outside. I peered through the window to see six boys around my age, including Jake. Three were at a piano, Jake and another boy were on a couch, while the other was dancing to the music. They looked so happy together...maybe only Jake was bad and he was tricking them all.

I made my way around the house, looking for a door. The more I moved, the more intense the pain became. Before the pain became too much to bear, I reached the front door. I started to pound on the door as hard as I could for what seemed like ages until the door opened.

"Please just let me in..." I said, too tired to say anything else.

"Oh my God," the boy said under his breath. "Someone help me get this person inside!"

He took me under his arm and started to pull me inside the house, while another boy ran down the hall to help. The first boy whispered something to other, and they laid me on the couch. Soon everyone in the room was surrounding me; I could see Jake in the back. A maid entered the room, handing me a cup of something.

"Take this medicine, and you'll start to feel better soon, okay?"

I did as I was told and drank the medicine. It was red, diluted with water, and tasted kind of like coins. That did not bother me except for when I started to feel uncomfortable. All of the boys were mumbling to each other, and glancing at me from around the room.Thankfully though, I almost instantly felt better after drinking the weird medicine.

The same boy that opened the door for me walked up to me and said, "Come with me, you look like you might need some cleaning up." He was a lot calmer than Jake, and seemed trustworthy enough to go with him.

"My name is Heeseung by the way. Sorry you had to meet me this way"

"Nice to meet you too, Heeseung. I'm Jungwon. And don't apologize; thank you for saving my life." I replied, as we walked up the staircase. "By the way...what day is it?"

"Friday the twenty-seventh."

That meant that I was outside the house, unconscious from the end of day Wednesday until Thursday around ten.

"This way," Heeseung pointed to a room on the right side of a hallway. "Here's where you will be staying. There is a change of clothes on the bed, and the bathroom is to the left. Come back downstairs when you're done, and don't be afraid to ask me if you need anything," he said as he exited the room.

I went over to the pair of clothes sitting on the bed. They were identical to what Heeseung and some of the other boys were wearing: black pants, a black vest, white button up shirt, and a tie. Before anything, I really needed to wash off all the blood on me.

...

After taking a bath and putting on clean clothes, I went back downstairs. I was a bit hesitant, but what good would it do for me if I locked myself up in my room?

I scanned the living room for Heeseung, but he and the other boys were not there. Luckily I had already inspected the first floor, so I knew my way around. I walked down a few deserted hallways, and finally made it to the dining hall where I found only Heeseung.

A/N:

this chapter is really short, but i'm going to be splitting each part of the given-taken mv into a chapter, which means they'll all be shorter...also i'm trying to make these two stories cohesive, and it's really difficult lmao
