I blinked and looked around. We were sitting at dinner. I don't remember how I got here. The last thing I remember is being about to throw my tiara in the hallway... Maddie was laughing and talking to a general to left. I was sitting next to Zach. Zach looks at me and asks me quietly, "Are you ok? You seem distraught"

I nod and say, "um... I'm. A little confused... what happened?"

"So something was off with you... Gilmore found you walking in the hallway, he brought you back here and since then it's seems like you were a little on auto pilot... we assumed someone with a compulsion talent got to you... but we didn't want to alarm anyone so we said you were jut a little in shock from finding out you were going to be queen... we were going to o ask you later  who it was..."

I just rub my efface before asking, "I didn't do anything to embarrassing did I?"

Zach shakes his head and said softly, "No, you've just been really quiet... and occasionally whining for Gilmore under your breath..."

My cheeks flushed and dark red and I whine, "oh no... did Maddie hear me?!"

"No..." Zach says before eating a few bites of his food and asking, "how long have your an Gilmore been dating?"

I looked at my food and ate a few bites before saying, "A little under a year..."

Zach nods before saying, "who'd you come across in the hall?"

"I don't remember... to be be honest..." I reply before suddenly looking at my hand. It was wrapped in gauze. I left a slight discomfort in the back of my mind. That wasn't right.. .that's not wha tit was wrapped in... right?

I just shake my head and at my food and surveyed the people sitting at the table. Maddie knew who all these people were, she could probably tell me all t names, and what their job was. I knew, maybe two of them? From my mom and dad's meetings.

I glanced off to the side and saw Gilmore standing near the door. His eyes were glued forward though.

I just sighed, finishing my food before trying desperately to remember what happened in the hallway.

Eventually Maddie told everyone they were allowed dot return to the ballroom or leave, there was no obligation.

I went to my room, tired of people,and drama. A handmaid helped me change into a night gown before I sat at my desk. Eventually I gave up trying to remember and went to bed.

I'm the morning I woke to Maddie opening my curtains to allow sun to come through the glass balcony doors. I groaned and Maddie says, "up! Up! You've got Royal training now..."

I sat up and she says, "be at breakfast in twenty minutes..."

Then she left.

I got up and a handmaid helped me into the nicest dress I've been in yet, I guess now that I'm going to be queen I get all the super fancy dresses and Maddie's going to start wearing simpler dresses. This dress was light blue with white gloves and a white corset. She put my hair in a half ponytail before sending me to breakfast. Since Maddie is acting queen she still gets the nicer seat so is at next to her. She smiles at me as if I were good enough for her standards now.

Breakfast was oatmeal with fruits.

We ate before Maddie turns to me and says, "You need to go to the library... I'll be there in a moment..."

I nod and walk off. I got to the library and put my head against the door.

I heard a small laugh that was explained with a, "It's only nine... and you look ready for the day to be over..."

I look over to see Zach and say, "I just don't want to do this stupid training... I mean, obviously my parents didn't want me to be queen or they would've trained both, Maddie and I in royal expectations... but they only trained Maddie... I just... Maddie had her whole life to prepare to be queen... she thinks I can do it in two years..."

Zach puts his hand on my shoulder and replies, "it'll be alright Spark, Maddie's just hard on you because she's worried about you..."

"No, she's had don me because she doesn't;t want to be queen, and knows I'll not be ready when it's time for my coronation..." I reply before pushing open the doors of the library and going inside

The walls of the library are lined with tapestries made by years of queens. My mother was working on hers before she died, I don't know how far she got on it... I just hope she got far enough to be able to hang it... my mom is the only queen so far to have dyed in battle. Most queens just sent their husbands off to battle... but my mom always felt that if she wasn't there then she wasn't being queen...

I sigh walking to the big tapestry in the back. This is the only Trabian work we have here... this tapestry was created by the first Eurasian family.

The tapestry is of a tree, at the base is the names of the couple that created the tapestry, the first Trabian and Eqocian, long before we split off. At that time we were still one species... now we're so genetically diverse that if someone who didn't know better tried to compare us I could see it being reasonable that they;d think we're two different species.  I sighed running my hand up the tree. The family grew stronger for many eyes until finally the tree broke off into branches, creating Trabians and Eqocians.

Wherever two branches from each side cross is where a marriage was attempted to create peace... but every attempt at peace ended in that royal couple and their children either being executed or exiled. But other then that mostly the branches keep to the two sides. When I was a little girl, I asked my mom what would happy if there was a marriage that ended happily.

Though I said it much less gracefully then that, and my mom replies with a smile and said, "well then sweetheart, a new tree would have to be created... and new tapestry hung..."

Maddie and I's names weren't on the tree yet, as neither of us have married or had children. Although is Maddie and Zach get married, I imagine their names would be added to the Eqocian side... I like to pretend like know where their names would be.

Suddenly Maddie was next to me and says, "magnificent... Ian;t it?"

I jump before nodding, "Yes... it truly is..."

I gently run my fingers over the names of my parents before I heard Maddie swallow hard and turn to pick books of the shelves.

She sets them on the table and says, "read these, when you have finished, I will look over the notes and annotations you've made..."

I sigh and sit down and start reading. After a little while my mind began to wander and though my eyes were going over the words, my mind was not. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain and a flash of someone's face appeared in my head.

In the background...was the hall? Am I beginning to remember?

I lost the face as soon as I began to store it to memory and in frustration I book across the desk.

Maddie jumped and looks at me. I started and cry and I whine, " I can;t do it Maddie... I can't... someone used a persuasion spell on me and I have no clue who it was... I don;t understand what this book is trying to tell me... I miss mom and dad... and you've changed so much... I can;t do it... I can't..."

Maddie's face went soft and she walks over sitting next to me. She strokes my hair and holds me like mom used to do whenever Maddie or I were upset. Maddie takes my hand and says softly, "Spark... I miss mom and ad too, but their not here with us anymore... so we've got to learn how to do this on our own..."

She looks at the books and picks up the one I'd been working on when she suddenly says, "Spark.. you didn't;t write any annotations... you just wrote Prince a Samael's name over and over again...'

Suddenly I got a sharp pain in my head, and I bright light appeared before I passed out.
