personality traits: self destructive, insecure, independent, restless, loyal, nihilistic, tunnel visioned, sees the world very black or white, control freak, mentally ill, sensitive to rejection, gets upset/angry easily, backstory: maya grew up with a loving family, her two parents and her brother(illegal immigrants from costa rica), she had been born in the states her parents moving when they found out they were pregnant with their 2nd child. she was raised mainly by her older brother, her parents working long shifts in order to support themselves. when she was 10 her parents got pulled over for a speeding ticket. which lead too a year long legal battle ending with everyone but maya being deported. the preteen was then forced into the foster system, where for the next 7 years of her life she would stay. bouncing from house to house, although on the run with her partner in crime more often then in a home. when she turned 18 she was immediately on her own, finding herself homeless and unprepared for having no support systems. she got into some bad situations, the worst being her first real relationship. a toxic, abusive one. for 2 years she stayed in that relationship, with no real way out as she had no money and wasn't allowed too get a job. until a drunken hookup left her pregnant. her boyfriend wanting too put the child in foster care. seeing it as an inconvenience. especially since it wasn't his. not wanting what happened too her too happen too her child she immediately broke up with him. finding her friends more welcoming then she had been lead too believe and moving in with one until she was back on her feet other/extra: -she's loves road trips and spent majority of her teens traveling around while on the run -spanish is her first language -she has bpd -she likes rain over other weather -she enjoys big cities but would rather live in an area with nature -she hates seafood -she is very dependent on people around her -she loves stargazing -shes scared of deep water -she works as a mechanic -rome is her daughter origin: first rp oc i ever made
