A Mega Evolution Gone Wrong

Chapter 6 Ash

"Where am I? What's going on? I feel a little dizzy. Something feels familiar. PIKACHU! Where's..." I thought as questions flew around my head. My eyes fluttered open. I saw Pikachu right over me with an antsy expression.

Happiness spread across his face as he said, "PIKA PI!" and hugged me.

"PIKACHU!" I shouted happily and hugged him back, relieved to see him safe.

Serena, Clement, and Nurse Joy ran inside. I sat up in bed.

"ASH! You're okay!" Clement and Serena said.

Serena hugged me tightly squishing Pikachu in the process.

"You're not in pain are you?" Clement asked in concern.

Serena released me as I stood up proudly, did a couple of squats as Pikachu climbed onto my shoulder. "I'm fine as a whistle," I laughed," Where's Bonnie, Korrina, and Lucario?"

"Bonnie fell asleep and--"

"Not anymore!" We all looked to see Bonnie standing in the doorway. "Ash! You're alright!" Bonnie squealed as she glomped me.

We fell on the bed, laughing.

"Korrina and Lucario--" Serena started to say.

"Are right here!" Korrina said with Lucario right beside her. I noticed that Lucario had a lot of injuries. "What happened while I was out?" I asked puzzled.

"Um..." Clement, Serena, and Korrina looked at each other.

"Doesn't matter! What matters is that me and Pikachu are alright. Plus, Korrina, you'll get better at Mega Evolving, don't worry."

"I'm soo sorry you had to go through all that." Korrina asked.

Before I could answer, a voice flew through the room saying, "I'm glad you feel that way." We all faced Gurkinn and McGinty.

"Korrina...you and Lucario's understanding of one another and lack of understanding of what Mega Evolution caused severe injuries to Ash and Pikachu," Gurkinn lectured.

"But, Ash said that we'll get better at Mega Evolving--" Korrina protested.

"YOU FOOLS!" Gurkinn roared.

Bonnie screamed clung to Clement in fear, Serena squeaked and flinched, and I cringed under the sound.

"I want you and Lucario to go on another training journey. To Pompous Mountain. There's a trainer there who also has a Pokémon who can Mega Evolve. She will train you on how to control Lucario's aura when it's Mega Evolved."

"...Alright." Korrina whispered.

"Hey, Korrina? We want to come with you, too," I said, "we'll be there by your side as you train."

"Look! I've got it here, Pompous Mountain!" Serena said pointing to Pompous Mountain on her Town Map.

"Great! Let's go!" Then I got up with Pikachu on my shoulder and ran out the door with Serena, Bonnie, Clement, Korrina, and Lucario on my tail. When we got out of the Pokemon Center, we heard a familiar voice yell, "Wait!"

We turn around and saw McGinty running towards us. I joked, "Looks like Clement's not the only one who's a slow runner." Everyone laughed as Clement flushed red with embarrassment.

"Hey! That's not funny! I can't help being slow."

When McGinty got to us, panting, he said, "Sorry, I'm not as fast as I used to be. I forgot to give you something, Korrina."

Perplexed, she said, "What?"

Reaching into his bag he pulled out an armband with the Lucarionite embedded in it. "This is for Lucario. So he can Mega Evolve." He snapped it onto Lucario's left arm. The Lucarionite glittered in the sunset.

"Wow! It looks gorgeous!" Serena said.

"It's like we're twins," Korrina said beaming.

"Oh and one more thing," McGinty said reaching into his bag again, pulling out a picture, "I printed another copy of the picture I took of you guys for you." He gave it to Korrina. Everyone pulled theirs out.

"It really is a good photo!" I said. Everyone agreed.

"Thanks, McGinty!" Korrina said smiling.

"Now hurry and get to Pompous Mountain."

"We will! Thanks for everything, McGinty!" Korrina said as we walked away from the Pokémon Center.

By this point, I saw Nurse Joy standing by the entrance. I turned around and shouted, "Thanks for everything, Nurse Joy!"

"Your welcome, and be more careful next time! Take care!"

"I will! Take care!" Even though I didn't quite understand what she meant.

Now Korrina's going to go train, we're going with her. I don't think I have to tell her this but...Korrina, Lucario, don't give up until it's over!
